Dear Reader,
Thank you for coming this far. With every moment you spent reading this book you have given me courage to continue it and for that I thank you with all my heart. It has been over a year in the making since I published the first draft of the prologue and it has been a long road getting here.
Special thanks must go to....
@CelticWarriorQueen17 for offering much-appreciated encouragement throughout this process. This book honestly probably would not have been finished without you.
@LordLysander7776 not sure if you're still on here, but if you are than you deserve some of this too. Your editing and blunt critiquing offered a special insight to writing this book and was invaluable.
@scytherO you kept this book going at a consistent pace and cut that one-chapter-a-month lull. I really appreciated your enthusiasm and your willingness to call me out when I didn't keep it going.
Now there has been some talk of a sequel through PM-ing and comments so I'm just going to express my thoughts on that now: there is no plan for a sequel at the moment, but if there becomes some you all will be the first to know. This book was really written to be a stand-alone but I understand how it maybe didn't turn out that way. Hopefully most questions were answered in the Epilogue, but if not please comment here and we can rethink it.
Aaaaaand just in case you were wondering what type of emotions I was going for with this book, here's the 'soundtrack' of music I listened to while writing it (asterisk indicates it was particularly influencial):
300 Violin Orchestra by Jorge Quintero
Renegades by X-Ambassadors
*Viva La Vida by Coldplay
*The Good Fight by Unspoken
Touch the Sky by Hillsong United
*This is Your Fight Song (Rachel Platten Scottish Cover) by the Piano Guys
Story of Your Life (Original by One Direction) by Piano Guys
Hold You Up by Shane Harper
Send Me a Song by Celtic Women
Breakeven (Falling to Pieces) by The Script
If You're Going Through Hell by Rodney Atkins
Roar by Katie Perry
Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
*Pompeii by Bastille
Let Her Go by Passenger
Stop and Star by OneRepublic
*Secrets by OneRepublic
Good Life by OneRepublic
Counting Stars by OneRepublic
Even If by MercyMe
7 Years by Lukas Graham
Love Alone Is Worth the Fight by Switchfoot
It Ain't Me by Selena Gomez/Kygo
Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur
I Bet My Life by Imagine Dragons
**The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd {HIGHLY RECOMMEND}
Hall of Fame by the Script
Proof of Your Love by For King and Country
*Demons by Imagine Dragons
Something Like This by Chainsmokers/Coldplay
*Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons
It's a really awesome music lineup; I would highly recommend provided you listen to the clean versions of 'em. Most aren't bad but a couple have some questionable parts.
Enjoy! Please share this book with friends, family, social media, etc. so the word can get out. After I edit it, it will be sent off to publishers so cross your fingers!
Finally, I wish you the best of luck on all your works too! If there's anything I can do to help anyone out don't hesitate to let me know. Happy reading - and writing! :D
