all I needed was to take deep breaths
but that was nothing you let me do
all you said was "keep going"
"keep pushing through"but somewhere on the way
I broke down again
because I couldn't stand it
I lost a friendthe voice that spoke to me
was someone I knew too well
it was the voice inside my head
now, my only friendthe friend I lost
was myself
nothing was left of me
I was left on the shelfI became something
you just pass
not something you give a second look
and absolutely not something you have close to your heartthat's when I realized:
I have nothing left
no one to talk to
no one worth my last breathfor no one cares
that I'm here
and that's why I stand
at the end of the pier
