have you ever thought about
the fact that the moon is always there
it never leaves the sky
it never disappears
it doesn't go up and and down
like the sun always does
it's left in the shadows
of broken love and trust
you see,
the sun were once
the moon's best friend
but every story
comes to an end
because the sun shined brighter
the moon was left behind
everyone adored the brightest
thought it was one of a kind
but late at night
when the moon was left in the spotlight
everyone closed their eyes
everyone stepped away
everyone fell asleep
because it was the end of the day
"the sun is down"
"we can go to bed"
but no one seemed to care
about the beautiful moonlight
that gave light to the town
when the sun wasn't there
