Nick...

I entered the dark building, the concrete walls were covered in dirt and the roof was leaking. There was a strong and nauseating smell of dry blood and stale urine that coated my lungs, causing me to heave several times, but I continued to maneuver my way through the halls.

A loud and ear shattering scream came from the room across of where I was standing, I knew Ashley was in there, I could smell her, her blood. My heart sprang in my chest and my blood began to boil, I ran in the direction of the room and tore the door off of its hinges. I cringed when I entered the wretched room. My eyes immediately went to Ashley, I saw the blood pouring from her chest, the red liquid freely spilling. I began running toward her, so fast that my feet were barely hitting the floor. I stopped in my track as I saw the blade cheekily resting on her neck with Cade holding the end of the knife, his hands stained with Ashley's blood.

"Now, do you really want to come any closer?" Cade began to laugh as he dug the knife further into her neck, slightly piercing the skin and drawing more blood. I heard Ashley barely wince, her head swaying, I could tell she was fighting to stay awake and it was killing me, seeing her like this.

"Don't you fucking touch her!" I screamed watching as he drew the knife away from the spot on her neck.

"What're you going to do? See, I know you Nick, I know you wouldn't do anything stupid, that'll risk her safety."

"Cade, you don't want to go through with this, she shouldn't be involved in a fight that has nothing to do with her." I took a step toward both of them and he drew the knife back on her neck as she stiffened.

"Well I've decided this fight has everything to do with her! If my mate dies! So does yours!" Ashley's face was stained with tears and she glanced up at me for the first time.

"I know what he wants." Her voice was hoarse and barely audible. "He's going to make you watch him kill me, then he'll kill you." Her voice broke at the end of her sentence and I couldn't stand to look away, despite how painful it was to watch. "Nick just go! He can't kill the both of us, just leave!" I shook my head and looked back at her, fighting back every tear that so desperately wanted to spill.

"I'm not leaving you." My eyes trailed up to look at Cade. I knew I could take him, I had the silver knife covered with the flower, the only thing that will stop a werewolf from healing, it will kill him.

"That's sweet, but I do intend on killing you. However, I'll let you decide, I mean it's the least I could do right? You first? Or her?" He lifted the knife from her throat once again and pointed it in my direction. I took a step towards them, now I was only a few feet away.
