Ashley...

We all got up around eleven in the morning, Nick had gotten a call from his father informing us that he and Anna were coming along with a colleague of hers. This meeting had made me very nervous. Anna was supposed to give a medical diagnosis on why I'm still a diabetic even though I'm a new wolf, Nicks father was coming to explain what it means to be a rare white rogue, with an even rarer crimson stripe, it was all making my head spin and I just wanted answers.

"Come on, Angel. Let's get something to eat." He came close to my face reaching for a kiss when I pulled back.

"No, Nick I have morning breath." He gave me a look that told me he didn't care.

"I don't mind." Before I could object or move away, he planted a soft kiss on my lips and pulled back quickly.

"Wasn't so bad, now was it?" He asked. I just giggled and took his arm as he led me to the kitchen.

"Good morning." I said to everyone in the room, and they all responded with a 'good morning' of their own.

"Dad says he'll be her in ten minutes." Jenna announced and Nick sent a smile my way.

"So, guys, you know they're here to explain to Ashley what's going on, and I think you guys should leave, she should hear this privately first and when she's ready, she'll tell you." I was fixing myself a cup of coffee, but stopped what I was doing when Nick spoke. Everyone had an understanding look on their face but it wasn't what I wanted.

"Nick, although that's very considerate I think you guys should stay, you're my family now, and either way you're going to hear about this eventually." Nick had somewhat of a shocked expression on his face, like he didn't think I would say something like this, but after realizing this is what I truly want he had a genuine smile on his face. One I haven't seen in forever.

We were staring at each other, smiling like we didn't have a care in the world, and that's how it felt. I know there are so many things on our plate, things we have to deal with, but looking at him puts my mind at ease and every worry that I have disappears.

'You're so brave, and amazing for allowing them to stay for this, Angel.' Nick spoke in my mind. I didn't see his lips move, yet I heard him clear as day.

'I'm talking to you through mind link. Nobody can hear us.' I couldn't help but smile like an idiot, this will definitely come in handy.

'This, this is awesome.' I said. He chuckled aloud and came closer, pulling me to his side.

'Now I can say all of the dirty things I want to say to you.' He said huskily.

'Mhm, and I could tease you so much this way. Turn you on when you're in the middle of a meeting, when you're alone or out with the guys, I'll pop into your mind, and turn you on.' I laughed so hard at what I had just told him. Surely it sounded stupid.

'I don't care Angel, I'll love every second of it.' We stopped our little conversation when the door opened and Nicks father, Robert walked in alongside Anna and her colleague.

I grabbed my mug of coffee and we all filed out of the kitchen and into the living room.

"Ashley, I guess you can decide what you want to hear first." Robert spoke. "About your diabetes or your wolf?" For some reason I almost flinched at the mention of my wolf, I had talked to her once, I still wasn't sure how it worked.

'I'm here, with you. At all times.' It wasn't Nick this time, it was her. 'I hear your thoughts, and chime in when you need me, I'm apart of you.' She spoke softly. Returning my attention to Robert I finally decided.
