Meredith felt her heart drop to her toes.

"What?" She asked, not believing her best friend.

"We saw him in the parking lot, he was here and now I think he's talking to the chief." George spoke up, his breath returning back to normal.

"Who's Derek?" Augustus rose his brows, bouncing the baby in his arms to keep it from being upset.

Meredith turned to the man, her feelings completely out of wack, she'd finally started to feel happy again. She had her friends and had even made a new one, he'd made his choice over a year ago, he chose to leave, to leave her, to leave their relationship.

With the thought of him being back, it scared her, it meant everything she was completely happy leaving unsaid would have to be said, she'd have to tell him about Bailey, and about everything.

There was no reason for him to be there unless he'd left Addison, but why should it matter to Meredith, he'd broken her heart and took the pieces with him that she couldn't ever pick up for herself, he'd left her completely miserable and returning would crush her all over again, and she wasn't sure if she could take it.

She looked Augustus in the eye and said, "Someone I used to date."

"And the father of that child." Izzie pointed out stupidly, she'd always had a way of not keeping her mouth shut sometimes.

Augustus looked at the baby and back at Meredith, there were certainly similarities, but the baby had crystal blue eyes that she lacked, he couldn't help but feel down at the thought of a man coming and taking the spot he'd created for himself helping out with Bailey, the baby boy he'd adore for the past two months.

"Oh." He didn't know what to say, but tried to remain friendly, "I'd love to meet him- No? No."

The man looked confused at the group of friends he'd become aquatinted with over his three months at the hospital, George shaking his head violently and his eyes wide enough to fall out of his skull.

The group laughed and came to an agreement that they wouldn't tell Derek, if they came across him, anything about Meredith. And hat included Bailey as well.

Augustus felt prideful that he was part of an inner circle, one that he shared with Meredith and that's all he cared about.

"Shall we go to the daycare now? It probably opened a few minutes ago." He asked, directing his question at Meredith.

"I think that's a good idea..." she sounded unsure and sick to her stomach, her mind clouding with everything to do with Derek.
