"Again? Are you fucking kidding me!" I screamed, throwing my glove onto the floor. We were playing the Ray's and the pitcher obviously didn't like that I was a girl playing ball. He nailed in my stomach during both my at bats and he just trucked me at second when I went to turn the double play from Kris; he didn't even slide! He just ran straight into me.
If I were any other player, he would've been tossed already. But I wasn't any other player, I was a girl, and not many people were fond with that.
I picked myself up and it was easy to see I was mad. "Woah there princess, calm down." The pitcher stood on second base and laugh.
"Maybe I could calm down if you stopped trying to get me on the DL! I earned my spot here and you need to accept that!"
He grabbed my arm and squeezed it tight. "Shut up princess, no one talks to me like that." I winced in pain, his hands were large enough to wrap around my whole wrist.
Why was no one stopping this?
"Let go of me!" I tried pulling my arm away but that only made him mad.
"Oh you can't handle a little pain? Then maybe you shouldn't be here." He pulled my back but this time gripping my forearm.
"Hey! Don't touch her!" I heard someone scream and I turned to see Kyle leaving the mound and running towards second base.
Kyle came over and in a swift motion, punched the guy in the jaw. The punches continued and by this time both benches had cleared to help their teammates.
When the umpires finally broke it up, Kyle and I were both tossed and were told we'd both most likely be fined for starting the fight. Yet the pitcher received no punishment.
"Are you fucking kidding me!?" Kyle screams in the blues face. "He was harassing her and purposely hurting her and no one bothered to stop it or punish them!"
"Kyle, let's just go now." I said quietly. This whole situation had been too overwhelming and at this moment I just was ready to get off the field for the night.
I grabbed Kyle's arm and started to walk off the field. I was surprised when the rest of the boys started following behind us. "What are you guys doing?" I question.
"If they wanna make the game sexist then I guess there's no game left. At least not a game we'll support." Kris says flashing me a smile.
I smiled at the group. "Awe. I love you all."
We all walked together off the field and down to the clubhouse. The game ended up counting as a forfeit but Joe didn't care about the loss, he was proud that we stuck together as a family.
Everyone started talking about dinner plans while I went over to talk to Kyle. "Thank you for sticking up for me. I can't thank you enough." I say, kissing his cheek.
"No one messes with my team like that. I've always got your back."
