I've been awake on this damn spaceship for about a month. I'm also the only one awake and I can't stand it. Somehow my sleep pod malfunctioned and now I'm awake, ninety years before I should be. I have to live the rest of my life on this stupid fucking ship, with no one around. I'll never know what it's like to get married, go on a date, hell, I haven't even had my first kiss. I'm gonna die alone.

I was sitting alone in the cafeteria, poking at my food as a guy walked in, full beard, chestnut hair. Even though he looks rough, he still looks hella good. My lips parted in surprise, thinking I'd never talk to an actual human being again and now, here's this guy. He saw me, heading over to where I'm sitting before taking a spot across from me.

"Are you the only one awake? I've been trying to find everyone, but I've had no luck." He asked and I nodded my head, placing my fork down.

"Yeah, I've been awake for over a month. H-How are you awake??" I question in return and he scratches at his beard.

"I don't know, honestly. I tried to get back into my pod but nothing happened." He eyes my food and I push the tray towards him, allowing him to have it. He gave a look that clearly asked if I was sure and I just smiled, nodding my head.

He began eating it, shoveling it down as he groaned in satisfaction. "This is delicious." He mumbled, food in his mouth and I chuckle, leaning on my elbows.

"What's your name?" I asked and he glanced at me before swallowing his food.

"Jim, Jim Preston. You?" He smiled and I melted on the inside. He has such a beautiful smile.

"Y/N, Y/N L/N." I smiled back at him, feeling my heartbeat pick up a bit.

After that day, Jim and I had spent every second of every day together, but what else could we do? Jim had cleaned himself up and he looked even better now that his scruff had been tamed. One night, we ended up conversing about things we haven't done, which for me, is a lot. I was a sheltered child back on earth, so I didn't get to experience a lot of things. I had decided to leave out that I've never actually kissed someone, because that's way to embarrassing, especially since Jim's so attractive. I'm afraid he'd just laugh in my face. That night before he left, he stopped at my door, turning around giving me a grin.

"I'm gonna show you how to dance sometime. No questions asked." He mentioned before leaving my room, leaving me with biggest smile I've ever had since I've been awake.

A month later..

.

When I woke up this morning, I went to the cafeteria to get my breakfast when I notice Jim sitting there, talking to another woman. My heart drops, seeing the smile on his face as he interacts with this girl, who's absolutely gorgeous, way prettier than I am. Before he notices me, I leave the room, not wanting to watch him constantly flirt with her, even if he didn't mean to do it. I sat down on my bed, noticing the tears that began streaming down my face, violently wiping them away, thinking about all the moments we had together. He didn't even get to show me how to dance. Laying onto my back, I let out a sigh, staring at the ceiling as I can hear their laughter from in here.

"Y/N?" A familiar voice asks and I sat up quickly, finding Jim and the girl standing in my doorway, a worried look on his face as he walks in. "Are you okay? You didn't come down for breakfast." I nodded my head in answer, not trusting my voice at the moment as I look out the window. "Well, this is Aurora. Um, her pod had malfunctioned like ours did."

"Hi." I mumbled, looking down at my fingers, hearing her whisper into Jim's ear, him telling her that he'll see her later as she walks off. He stands in the same spot, his eyes watching every move as I sniffled slightly.
