Remember When...?

Remember when you hardly knew me at all?
Didn't know my name,
My age,
Or the things I liked to do.

Remember when you first heard of me?
It was nothing big.
I was just a boy,
Your best friend's cousin actually.

Remember when you first saw me?
In your own words, you wrote
"One look at my surface and you already wanted to know me more."

Remember when we met?
I had heard of you before, but had never really knew I'd find you to be so cute our first quinceñera practice.

Remember when you said you couldn't dance?
I grabbed your hand and led you, hoping my partner wasn't as clumsy as I had claimed to be.

Remember how we danced for the real first time?
You were nervous out of your mind and it was just after we had been having problems.
I grabbed your hand and told you just to follow my lead.

Remember our first kiss?
I had been pondering on the thought for so long.
I wondered how you'd react and before I could gather myself, I had jumped forward into your infinite abyss.

Remember my chipped tooth?
I had hated smiling when taking pictures, but you made me feel loved even more, treasuring it for so long.

Remember the first candy gram you sent me?
It had so many hilarious puns along with that cute little jar of gummy worms with a "Hook'd on You" quote.

Remember when we had started holding hands?
Mine were always slightly larger and yours could never really fully close, I'd always thought I was squishing them.
But you didn't seem to mind.

Remember our first homecoming dance?
It was the only game we won that year
And I was so nervous.
You had stayed in your cheer uniform and my smile could never fade from ever looking at you.

Remember when we danced that last slow song?
I felt so close to you and didn't know much of the song
But felt I needed to sing it to you anyway.

Memories can never be forgotten.
We can't choose what to think and not think of.

But with you, I've made a lifetime of memories.
Good-
And Bad-
But in all,  cherished at heart.

You've been a dream-
A lesson-
A gift-
A heartache-
A feeling-

But most importantly...

You've been my happiness.

I was always asked how I could put myself in such a relationship for so long and to be honest, I could never answer honestly.

.....

Remember when I told you I loved you for the first time?

It was a little too fast
But I knew what I meant.
You weren't ready at first but those kisses you always sent.

My baby-
My girl.
The love of my life.

My future-
Mi Amor-
Always by my side.

You'd make a great mom.
A great wife at that.
I Love You-
Forever and Always-
And Ya know..

Even After That.
