Tarnished Jewel

She was once a brilliantly shining jewel,

able to blind with the help of light.

A wonderful sight to see,

she was a priceless beauty.

Only God could afford,

but one night that all disappeared.

She was caught in the hands of a boy who she thought was perfect.

So perfect in fact that she'd decided to give him her most prized possession,

her virginity.

He smiled wide and kissed her so passionately.

He caressed her shoulders and face.

She looked down shyly,

but he assured her everything was fine.

She nodded and whispered "okay",

unbeknownst to what would happen next.

A night full of "passion",

would soon turn into a hell she could never escape.

Her hands were tied, her legs were pinned,

and her body was ravished.

They took everything she kept protected

How could someone do this to another human being?

She thought.

The boy she thought was perfect and his best friend...

brutally snatched away her innocence, with no remorse.

She was once a brilliantly shining jewel,

able to blind with the help of light.

Now...

she lay broken and dull,

a tarnished jewel.

But she continues to fight for her shine.

She walks through life with her head high and her smile bright.

She lives on despite that one heinous night.

She knows that she will shine again.
