So when we left off, William Afton had gotten away with murdering Henry's son, and Henry had closed down Fredbear's Family Diner as a result. Now to get back into the story.

Even though it was a small place, Fredbear's was a popular place. It gained a huge following even prior to it's closing, large enough to merit merchandise and a TV show. The TV show was called 'Fredbear and Friends', and introduced a new set of characters to the Fredbear cast. These characters were Freddy, a brown bear similar to Fredbear,  Bonnie, a blue bunny close to Spring Bonnie, Chica, a yellow chicken, and Foxy, the red fox pirate. Two toy lines were also introduced based on these characters. There was a set of plushies and a set of plastic figurines.

There were also two restaurants opened. One was Fredbear's Pizzeria, similar to the original diner, and another pizzeria based around the characters from 'Fredbear and Friends'. Animatronics were made for the second, but the original springlock suits were used for the first.

Afton bought his children the toys, they watched the show, and Afton continued to work there. Along with Henry and Afton, there was now another central employee who was in charge of security and acted as a manager to the other workers, leaving tapes on how to use the suits and things like that. Guess if you can tell who this guy is. *sly wink*

Anyhow, Afton still wanted to leave. And he decided to see how long he could really get away with murder for. So he killed again. This time he took four kids and stuffed their bodies into the animatronic suits (we'll touch more on this later). Little did Afton know, those five kids were friends of his middle child, and this kid caught him in the act. His dad, not wanting to be exposed for his horrible deeds, put security cameras around places his son often went, and inside psychic friend Fredbear, crying child's favorite plushie.

The kid was horrified, and this was not aided by his older brother Michael ripping the heads off his plushie friends and putting them on to scare him. But he didn't spill hid father's secret.

Then it was crying child's birthday. It was held at Fredbear's Pizzeria, where the two springlock suits sat waiting. As a fun prank and with the help of his friends, Michael shoved crying child into Fredbear's mouth.

He was terrified. He had witnessed hid father murder his friends with this thing (oh, did I forget to mention that?). And as he squirmed to escape, he moistened the locks with his tears (thus the name 'crying child') and they snapped down on him, putting him into a coma and sending him into a world with nothing but nightmarish versions of his beloved characters.

His family clung to him, desperate to let him survive, but their suffering was in vain. The child died of his wounds after five nights in the living hell.

The souls of the child's friends were only connected to the animatronics when the puppet later 'gave  to them from within the suits. That's what the weird cutscenes from fnaf 2 are. The spirits awakening with a thirst for revenge. But crying child died in a hospital, not an animatronic. He ended up haunting an extra Freddy suit they had at the second location, one sometimes used to represent Fredbear. He was forced to behave like a ghost, for his soul couldn't take over and control the lifeless suit like the others could.

And upon his son's death, Afton and his daughter made a promise. To put him back together. But they went about it in different ways.
