chapter 2

As Meredith got busy with her work in the small cafe the bell chimed signalling a new arrival.

She went there to welcome the new comer but was cocooned into a warm hug instantly she giggled realising it to be none other than her best friend Demitri.

"what's up D" she asked cheekily "am good how about you candy" he asked smiling "me too wait a bit I will bring my bag and we are good to leave" she hurried inside the staff room.

Putting on her coat as it was pretty chilly outside she walked towards Dimitri and they both started covering the short distance to their apartment.

Apparently Dimitri and her both share the same apartment and to think if they have a scene no they don't he is more into males than females.

Yes he is gay and has a lovely boyfriend too he is just a brother figure for Meredith after her grandfather's demise.

He wrapped one of his hand around her dainty shoulder and they began walking chattering and laughing all the way.

That is until a black shiny Mercedes crossed their path making them stop along with it few other cars all in black stopped right beside them .

Dimitri hid Meredith behind him protectively soon all the men stepped out of the cars and stood circling them with theirs guns pointed.

A chilling silence followed but the atmosphere changed instantly when the door of the Mercedes opened and came out a man dressed in royal blue armani his orbs hidden beneath those black shades.

Dimitri's face mopped into one that of panic seeing the man standing in front of him and a sly smirk took over the mysterious man's handsome face.

"Xavier" he breathed hearing it a scowl took over Xavier's face as he sneered "Non apprezzo la mancanza di rispetto".

Instantly Dimitri lowered his eyes afraid for the life of the little girl hidden behind "sorry boss".

"Non ho tempo per il tuo b******* , did she signed up the papers or should I finish her up proprio come suo nonno I don't have anymore time to waste behind that stupid little girl"

Dimitri's eyes widen "boss s-she has signed up d-don't worry I will get you the documents tomorrow itself" he smiled nervously.

He was a worker of Xavier Silvestri who was given the job of taking the signature of Meredith to occupy her land but he instantly got attached to the little girl forgetting his work she is so kind hearted and beautiful that it can awake a sense of protectiveness within any living being.

His reverie of thought broke when he saw Xavier keenly starring at something behind him tilting his head to the side,so craning his head he too followed his gaze and saw Xavier's eyes were on the pale dainty little hand that was holding Dimitri's shoulder he stiffened cursing under his breath.

But feigned ignorance thinking Xavier had not seen her hands he must be starring at something else until he heard a gruff voice "chi nasconde dietro di te".

Dimitri shook his head frantically "it's no one boss your imagining things I guess" again he laughed nervously but it died down when he saw Xavier's narrowed eyes and dark expression he knew now they were in some serious trouble.

And it confirmed when he heard Xavier's angry command "spostare Dimitri".

He moved away giving a clear view of little Meredith whimpering with her hands covering her face brown straight hair flying everywhere due to the breeze. His heart clenched for the girl he had accepted as his sister he was failing in his duties of being a brother and protecting her.

"remove your hands" Xavier said something in his voice made her do it immediately maybe it was the powerful aura around him that screamed danger with a capital D.

In a trance Xavier removed his shades as his eyes fell on her, brown pin straight hair flying in the slight breeze baby blue eyes starring at him like a scared kitten red plump lips that were quivering as she whimpered.

Her flawless skin without a spot so fine she was petite and a little chubby all this features made her look like an angel.

He had never seen such an ethereal beauty ever before, he was stunned breathless his heart was in a frenzy going crazy inside its cage.

"Cosí angelic" but he composed himself when he heard a clearing of throat "È tardi andare Dimitri e informare non appena si arriva" he muttered to Dimitri without moving his gaze from her.

And swiftly they all were gone like nothing had happened just mere minutes ago leaving a confused Meredith looking at Dimitri accusingly.

And a guilty looking Dimitri sighing it was going to be a long night he thought.
