2 years later

Amie and Parker were standing at the airport waving their hands towards their best friend who was going back home.

Yes Amie has accepted Parker and now they were engaged but they were not going to marry any time soon as per Amie as they had yet to achieve their dreams.

As for Meredith she is happy and sad at the same time happy that she met two most important people of her life and sad that their time together came to an end so soon but they had parted with a promise to keep in touch and to see each other whenever possible.

As the air hostess announced about their landing half an hour later she sat straight tightening her seat belt.

As Demitri saw Meredith walking out of the airport along with her luggage he ran towards her and hugged him tight making her giggle at his excitement "Gosh! candy I missed you so much" she smiled when he released her she whispered "I missed you more but hey I made new friends so no complaints" they kept blabbering about their life events filling each other in with all the things that happened in those years she lived apart for studies.

"take rest candy" Demitri muttered as he showed her ,her room in his apartment which was new she nodded closing the door behind and after setting in all her things within fifteen minutes she fell face first on the warm bed closing her eyes and breathing in complete bliss.

Next morning Meredith and Demitri where having breakfast in her cafe her grandfather's to be more specific she couldn't help but notice the small detailing and the renewed furnishings everything has changed in a good way "thanks D for everything"she told him sincerely wiping the little moisture that seeped through her eyes seeing the huge portrait of her family hung on the wall beautifully.

"It's nothing candy your my sister remember so there is no place for any thankyou or sorry ok"he fake glared her and she smiled.

Later they were back home watching some chickflicks with blankets and pillows all around them and huge bowls of chips on their laps.

Engrossed in the movie so much that they would throw chunks of chips on the screen whenever they didn't like a scene.

It was around dinner time when Josh Skyped Dimitri as he was out of country running some errands. All three of them chatted for a long time until Meredith couldn't take their corny flirthings and thought best to leave the couple respecting their privacy and retired to bed.

Xavier growled in frustration when the phone rang for the fifth time how he hated those people who called him when he was busy working, angry beyond belief he received the call without glancing at the caller ID .

"WHAT?" he growled but his blood ran cold when he heard the information from the other side of the phone it was from the city hospital infrorming him that Mr Paul Sedon was suffering from a heart attack and he might not be able to live another day.

As quick as possible he ran his car towards the hospital breaking speed limit and traffic rules he quickly asked for the room where Paul was kept from the receptionist and stood outside the door memories of paul rushed one after another the man had sacrificed whole of his life for him and his father a man as loyal as this one could hardly be found he was a father figure the only person close to be called as a family.

Fear gripped his heart as a lone tear slip past his orbs he wasn't prepared for losing the only person he thought of as a family with trembling hands he somehow managed to turn the door knob a creek sound was heard before the door fully opened revealing a sobbing girl with ginger head she had changed he could see it it's been a long time since they met the girl turns around to see the intruder before jumping right into his arms.

"Xav he is suffering my dad is suffering they say he won't make it look he is passed out and not even opening his eyes" she cried loudly tightening her hold on him.

Xavier patted her back "it's ok Phoebe calm down he'll be alright" his voice sounds unreal even to his own ears but phoebe ignored it hoping his words were true seeking comfort from them.

Phoebe was Paul's only daughter who was left on his doorsteps years ago no one knows who was the lady probably one of Paul's one night stands because he never had an actual girlfriend just flings after receiving phoebe he got so smitten by his little girl that he became responsible and sincere for her changing his ways to be a dad and not to be a normal one but the best dad ever Xavier and phoebe were child hood best friends until they had to part because Paul didn't want his daughter to be involved in his harmful world but she knows about it.

They were consoling each other when suddenly they heard a sharp intake of breath
instantly they jumped on their feet calling for the doctor the doctor along with few nurses ran to their eid pushing them out of the room.

Minutes that seemed liked ages later the doctor came out telling them he has few minutes left both of them seemed stunt at the statement Xavier being the first one to grip his emotions entered the room to see the man who was their when he reached rock bottoms for the last time whereas phoebe stood frozen on place.

"paul" Xavier whispered making the old man flutter open his eyes barely able to breathe through the oxygen mask and that's when Xavier Silvester broke down "don't leave me Paul am not ready to be all by myself not yet you can't do this to me at least not to her you gotta live for your daughter" he said holding pauls clampy left hand in both of his hands as tears kept flowing down that's when Paul somehow managed to open the mask breathing unevenly Xavier panicked "no don't do that" he almost screamed but Paul held his hand pressing it a bit to grab his attention at what he was about to say "promise me Xavier you'll take care of my daughter after me I know you can't forget Meredith but think closely will she be able to forgive you even if she did do you have it in you to taint a pure innocent soul like hers do you Xav?" he asked Xavier kept his mouth shut knowing it was true he would never possibly do that to her.

But his world came crashing down when he heard Paul speak for the second and last time "Marry phoebe Xavier please it would bring peace to my restless soul knowing she is in safe hands" his eyes snapped to his but they were closed already he tried to shake him up but it was too late he was gone leaving everyone behind.
