Chapter 20 - Starting A New Family

Years pass, Zoey and Chase had finally finished studying at college and university. Soon, both of them were ready to take the next big step and Chase asked Zoey to live with him. They both bought a beautiful small house that lived close by to Jonathan and Avery.

After graduation, Chase and Jonathan were also finally able to push their differences, hate and distrust for each other aside and slowly become friends.

Zoey had been able achieve her dream in being a professional photographer and Chase had also been able to achieve his dream in being a successful businessman. Their relationship was going swell, life was good and both of them possess success and love for their careers.

One day, Zoey texted Chase that she was going to be home late from work.

When Chase saw the text, he knew it was time. After replying her and acknowledging her text, he called Jonathan to come over and asked him to bring Emily. A little while later, Jonathan and Emily arrived at Chase's house and rang the doorbell.

"Hey bro, what's up?" asked Jonathan confused when Chase answered the door. Chase was adamant of he and Emily coming by but was very mysterious about it as well and refused to answer all questions till they've arrived.

"I need both of your help," began Chase as he let them in, "I want to propose to Zoey."

Jonathan and Emily gaped at him firstly in shock and then they both cheered happily for him.

"OH MY GOD. Chase... that's amazing!!! I'm so happy for you!" squealed Emily as she clapped her hands together.

"Yeah man, that's so cool," cheered Jonathan smiling in delight at the news.

"Thanks guys but the problem is, I have no idea on how to propose to her," Caste continued on slightly embarrassed.

"We can help you! When will you be proposing?" asked Emily her eyes shining brightly.

"Ummm well... tonight," said Chase sheepishly.

"WHAT? Tonight! That's fast!" Emily gasped her eyes widening. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's do this thang!"

Jonathan cringed at Emily's use of words but laughed at her excitement. She was too cute for words.

Chase, Jonathan and Emily spent the rest of the evening preparing as fast as they could.

Soon, Zoey was back. "I'm home!" yelled Zoey as she closed the door behind her.

Turning around, she suddenly noticed a bunch of candles on the table next to her in the hall and a path of rose petals scattered on the floor. "Woah! What's going on here?"

"Chase? Anybody home?" shouted Zoey a little bit pleased but still confused. What's the occasion?

Walking forward, she saw a note with the candles on the table that read, "Follow the colourful rose road." Smiling in delight at this mysterious romantic turn of events, she did. The rose petals led her upstairs to the roof of the house. Opening the roof door, she saw a table and two chairs set up.

"What is going on?" Zoey wondered with a wide smile on her face.

"Hello, my lady," came a voice from behind her.

"Oh my god! Jonathan! You scared me!" squeaked Zoey as she slapped Jonathan on his arm.

Zoey then looked at him from top to bottom. "What are you wearing?" asked Zoey giggling.

"And what on earth is going on?"

"Don't ask, and someone told me to wear this," said Jonathan annoyed as he rolled his eyes.
