Struggles In Highschool Levi x Reader; Sebastian x Reader [Hiatus]

End of a war

The bell rang telling the students the school day has ended and to some that it is time to get ready for the evening. Boys and girls were chatting with each other in the lobby, making their way outside. Almost everyone was eager for the ball except for some, who either didn't care, had made other plans or who didn't have a date they wanted, like Raelyn and Nadine for example. As [Reader 1&2] were walking towards the lobby, chatting about the ball, they could notice Raelyn and Nadine giving them a glare and a scoff but they decided to ignore it. It's not their problem anymore.

"So, what are you wearing for tonight?" [Reader 2] asked her friend as they were putting on their coats.

"A dress that almost falls to the floor. Its top part is white and the lower part is [favourite colour]. But you?"

"I was thinking about a [favourite colour] dress that's a little over the knee and the skirt part is pleated."

[Reader 1] hummed in response.

As the girls started to leave, Sebastian and Levi walked past them. Sebastian gave the two girls a soft smile while Levi did a small nod. They had already agreed on how they will go to the ball, so there was no need to talk it over.

[Reader 1] was admiring herself in the mirror. She had her gorgeous dress, make-up that didn't hide her natural features but emphasised them and her hairstyle, which was like a cherry on a ice cream sundae. Everything was perfect. Even her mom couldn't take her eyes off her daughter while standing in the doorway.

"What do you think?" [Reader 1] asked turning to her mother, "does it look good?"

"It's perfect! You look even better than me, I'm jealous!" her mother did an exaggerated sigh while putting her hand on her forehead.

[Reader 1] chuckled: "Thanks."

At the sound of the doorbell ringing [Reader 1] looked over to her mother, excited: "He's here!" and rushed towards the door. She took a second to compose herself before opening it.

"Hey. Shall we go?"

[Reader 2] was carefully checking herself out in the mirror, to see if everything was how it should be.

"Mom! Is my make-up okay? Does the eyeshadow look weird?"

"Everything looks great, don't worry!"

"Are you sure or are you just telling me that so I wouldn't panic?"

"Everything's okay, trust me. When will your date get here? It's almost time to go."

"I don't know. We agreed that he would come get me 30 minutes before the ball starts and he hasn't called nor texted me about change of plans.." [Reader 2]'s eyes fell to the floor at the thought about being stood up.

"I'm sure he'll co-" [Reader 2]'s mom was cut off with the sound of someones knocking on the door three times.

[Reader 2]'s heart started beating faster as she was making her way to the door.

"Sorry I'm late. Shall we get going?"

The ball had started and everyone was seated behind round shaped tables with snacks and alcohol-free drinks. The schools director, student council president and many others made speeches, wishing everyone an enjoyable evening. The host of the ball came up to the mic to announce the first dance. As slow waltz music started to play, the host of the ball started dancing with his partner and soon other students joined them on the dance floor.

Sebastian stood up and asked [Reader 1] for a dance, for which she happily agreed to. As they went towards the dance floor, Sebastian looked back at Levi and motioned him to do something, to which Levi cleared his throat, stood up and also asked for a dance from [Reader 2]. The girl chuckled before agreeing.

The mood was romantic on the dance floor. It felt just like a fantasy story with the sound of the strings playing in the background. The two girls were in their own world, trying to ignore how close they were with their partners. They didn't dare to look them in the eye, which made the atmosphere between them a little awkward. But as the music continued, both the girls and boys were able to relax a bit more and eventually make a little eye contact from time to time. When the song ended [Reader 2] and Levi were a little taken aback.

"The song is over already?" the girl asked, making confused puppy-eyes.

"Ah, and I was just getting the hang of it," Levi commentated.

They went back to the table with [Reader 1] and Sebastian following them suit, talking amongst eachother.

The whole evening went by like that. For some songs they danced and for some they just sat in their seats, talking with each other and watching other students enjoying themselves.

[Reader 1] and Sebastian were on the dance floor and it seemed that they would not go anywhere meanwhile. [Reader 2] was sitting behind the table with Levi, making small talk every now and then. It was kinda awkward because none of them knew what to talk about. Talking about school gets very boring very fast, especially since they both were in the same class. Both of them weren't especially good at socializing either so the table was most of the time quiet. But as soon as "Sugar" in rumba style started playing [Reader 2]'s eyes lit up. She stood up and turned to Levi: "Let's go dance!"

Levi was surprised by the sudden command: "Okay but why so suddenly?"

"Let's just go!"

They turned to the dance floor and joined the others, who were already dancing rumba. The awkward atmosphere had died down and both of the girls with their dates were finally relaxed, dancing as if they were all alone in the room.

In this relaxed moment [Reader 1&2] felt that everything they had been through with Raelyn and Nadine didn't matter anymore. There was no reason to always check their surroundings for some sick traps, no need to worry about false news and so on, cause it wasn't important anymore and it never should've been. What was important was this moment, when all four of them could easily breathe again.

Hanji was standing in the back, monitoring everyone in the room. When her eyes caught [Reader 1&2] dancing happily with Sebastian and Levi she couldn't help but sigh happily.

"Finally, my ships sailed!" she said to herself while taking out her phone to takes some pics, which she later sent to the chatroom with the caption "The war is finally over."
