Chapter 2-Settling in

Jon's POV

I asked Alec and Jace to come to the kitchen with me hoping they could help.
"Obviously I trust you two the most so I need you to help me with Clary. I don't want her heartbroken by Sebastian or Nathan so I trust that if she ever needs help and I'm not there I can rely on you two and if Sebastian or Nathan do start flirting with her then you'll stop before they take it to far"

"Of course Jon you can trust us, right Alec" Jace said and he nodded in agreement

Alec, Jace and I glanced over at Clary and saw Sebastian kissing her cheek before she scurried off to her room.

Alec POV

As soon as Jon's sister stepped into the room I couldn't help but stare. She was beautiful. Her fiery red falling down her back and her bright green eyes. She was wearing a plain white crop top that slightly showed her toned stomach and as she reached up to hug Jon and her black skirt hugged her curves along with her white converse. I was brought out of my trance when Jon asked me and Jace to come into the kitchen.

He explained how he didn't want Clary with Sebastian or Nathan and I nodded quickly knowing they would break her heart. I would do anything for Clary. It had only been 5 minutes and I hadn't even talked to her yet but I think I was already falling in love with her.

Clary POV

Sebastian kissed me on the cheek and although I admit he was good looking it didn't feel right so I quickly made an excuse to leave grabbed my bags and went to my room. I walked in and saw that Jon had sorted out my whole room. He even decorated and left me a new sketchbook with pencils.

I quickly ran out of the room and jumped at Jon hugging him as hard as possible.

"Woah what's this for?" He asked

"For my room" I replied "the decorations, the sketchbook all of it, its amazing so thank you" I said with a big smile on face

"You welcome" he replied " before you go I want you to personally meet Jace and Alec" Jon said

"Hi" I said taking in both boys

Jace has golden eyes and golden hair. Girls probably chased him but Alec, Alec had midnight black and hair and amazing blue eyes that I could get lost in. Before he could catch me staring Jon spoke up again.

"If you need help and I'm not here you can trust Jace and Alec to help you and here are both their numbers" he said giving me a slip of paper.

Jace gave me a quick hug before speaking " sorry I have to go I have to meet my girlfriend Kaelie but hopefully we'll see each other soon Clary"

I nodded and gave him a smile before he left.

"Clary me and the guys are going out for a bit but Alec is staying here so he can help you unpack and mom will be back soon with food"

"Sure okay" I said as he left with the other guys

"Bye Claryyy" Sebastian and Nathan said simultaneously as they both winked at me on their way out.

I turned my head back to Alec rolling my eyes and Alec laughed.

"Don't worry they'll stop eventually" he said in a reassuring voice.

"So why did you not go with the rest of the guys" I said wondering why Alec stayed

"My parents go out of town for work quite a lot and your mom and Jon are kind enough to let me stay here when they do I sort of live here I guess and my sister Izzy does the same but she is out shopping at the moment" Alec replied

"So are you and Izzy living here at the moment?" I asked

"Yeah me and Izzy are here every other month this year sometimes more so I guess you'll be seeing a lot of me. Oh and don't worry you'll love Izzy she can be a lot to take in at first but you learn to love her. I stayed because Izzy left her key so someone needs to let her in when she comes back and Jon thought you might need help unpacking anyway so here I am" Alec said with a smile on his face

"Well thanks for staying" I said gently touching his arm when a spark flew through me and I blushed quickly stepping away from Alec.

I looked up at Alec as his hair flopped in his face and I had a sudden urge to push it back. He noticed my stare and I quickly turned away blushing. Suddenly there was a loud knock on the door and I stopped staring at Alec.

Alec gestured for me to be quiet as he said in a funny voice "who is it?" And I stifled a laugh.

"ALEXANDER LIGHTWOOD OPEN THIS DOOR NOW" a voice shouted and Alec opened the door laughing with me behind him.

Izzy was glaring at Alec when she noticed me dropped all bags and said
"Omg you must Clary I've heard so much about you finally I have someone to shop with and do makeovers" Izzy pulled me into a really tight hug and I made a gasping noise

"Uh Iz she needs to breathe" Alec said and Izzy let go.

"Okay I need to put all this stuff away so I talk to you soon" Izzy said and skipped away to her room

"Thank you" I said turning to look at Alec

"No problem" he said touching my shoulder lightly and a spark went through my body again.

"Let me know if you need help unpacking" he said and walked off to his room.

I watched him walk away with thoughts drifting through my head. Wait did I like Alec Lightwood. No I can't he's my brothers best friend and he is a year older than me, but the way his hair flops into his face and his deep blue eyes...
Crap I do like him I thought and quickly ran to my room hoping that unpacking would take my mind off Alec.

Alec POV

I walked back to my room and lay on my bed. Every time I touched Clary a jolt went through my whole body. I couldn't get this girl out of my head. I heard a door banging shut and walked over to see Jocelyn with all the groceries. I ran over to help her

" hey miss fray"
"How many times Alec just call me Jocelyn" she said
"Right sorry miss.... Jocelyn" I said smiling as I took some of the groceries to the kitchen
"Oh Jocelyn Clary got here about half an hour ago she's in her room unpacking" I said
"Really can you go and get her please I'll just finish putting the groceries away" Jocelyn replied
"Sure" I said and headed to Clary's room
I knocked on the door and she opened it straight away. She looked up and smiled at me and blushed and I couldn't help but stare.
"Uhh Alec?" She said quietly and I snapped out of the trance
"Oh sorry umm your mom is in the kitchen she wants to see you" I said quickly
"Really thanks" she said with a big grin on her face and ran down the hall

Clary POV

I blushed slightly when I saw Alec at my door and caught him staring slightly as well. As soon as he said my mom was here I ran down the hall to the kitchen.

"Mom!"
"Clary your so grown up!" My mom exclaimed as she pulled me into a hug

"Where's Jon" she asked

"He went out with some of his friends but Alec stayed here with me and I just met Izzy as well"

"Good you've already met everyone I'll let you finish unpacking while I make dinner and Jon will probably be back by then as well" My mom said

"Okay" I replied giving her another small hug before going off to my room

"Alec" I shouted down the hall as I saw him about to go into his room. He turned around and saw me coming down the hall

"Would you mind helping me unpack I think I brought way too much stuff " I said

"Of course" Alec replied with a smile

He looked into my room but didn't react
" is something wrong?" I asked
"No its just if you think this is a lot of stuff you should wait till you see Izzy's room, I don't think you can even see her floor anymore" he said laughing. I smiled and gave a small laugh as Alec started to help me unpack.
