Chapter 5 - Alec

Clary POV

I entered the apartment and saw that no one was home. Mom wouldn't be back from work until about 7 and it was only 4 right now.

I put my stuff on the table and collapsed onto the sofa. I flicked through the channels and saw Brooklyn nine nine so I put it on and started browsing through Instagram.

I was just getting comfortable when Izzy, Alec and Jon burst through the door. Jon and Alec looked tired but Izzy was chatting away as usual.

"Hey guys" I said and Izzy suddenly grabbed my arm

"We need to talk" she said grabbing my arm and dragging me to her room as I mouthed 'help' to Jon and Alec and they just laughed

She dumped me on the bed slammed the door and sat cross legged on the bed next to me.

"Why have you not got together with my brother yet. It's been weeks and all you and Alec do is glance at each other and blush" she said and I blushed at the thought of Alec

"See your blushing right now!" she exclaimed and I smiled

"I don't know I'm kinda inexperienced when it comes to that area, I've only been with one guy, I shuddered at the thought of him. I guess I was just waiting to see if he actually likes me that way" I said

"Of course he does" Izzy said and I'm going to help you two

"No don't do anything stupid" I said

"Fine" Izzy replied sighing as I walked out of her room

"Iz?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks"

"For what?"

"Everything you may or may not do for me and Alec" I said

"My pleasure" she said with a big grin

I opened the door walked out and sat back down on sofa next to Jon

"What was that about?" He asked

"Just girl stuff" I replied

"ALEC" Izzy suddenly shouted

"You better go before she storms in here and drags you out" Jon said laughing

Alec got up sighing and walked over to Izzy's room

As we heard Izzy's door shut I spoke up

"Jon can i ask you something?"

"Sure what's up"

"What would you do if I started dating someone?"

"Nothing really, just check him out make sure he's good enough. Give him the protective brother talk of course" he said

"Okay" I said

"Why, got someone in mind?" He asked

"Maybe?" I said

"Okay, as long as its not my best friend" he said jokingly

"Yeah..." I replied trailing off thinking about Alec and fake laughing so Jon didn't suspect anything

Alec and Izzy came back over. Jon's phone started ringing and he answered quickly before putting it down again

"I have to go help Jace with some football stuff be back soon" he said leaving

"Bye" Izzy, Alec and I said

"Both of you come with me I need help" Izzy said walking off

I looked at Alec as he shrugged his shoulders and we both followed Izzy

She held open the door to the spare room and gestured for Alec and I to go in. We walked into the room and suddenly Izzy slammed the door shut and locked us in.

"Izzy let us out" I shouted banging on the door

"Iz let us out now" Alec said

"No, you have to talk to each other and you know what its about" she shouted back

Alec turned to look at me and I felt my cheeks go red as I sat down on the bed

Izzy had pushed us into this room because my mom used it for her work stuff and she didn't want us messing it up so it was the only room with a lock on it.

Alec sat on the bed next to me

"Sooo..." He said trailing off

Just say it I thought, say you like him. I opened my mouth but no noise came out so I closed it again. Great i've already made myself look stupid. We were sitting on the edge of bed with my hand leaning on the bed and Alec suddenly put his over mine.

I looked up at him and he placed a hand on my cheek and leaned in. Without thinking I leaned closer to him and he kissed me.

He pulled me forward a little cupping my face in his hands and wrapped my arms around his neck.

We both pulled back and looked at each other.

"Tell me you felt that too" he said and I nodded

"That was..."

"Amazing?" He asked

"Definitely" I said getting up.

"Where are you going?"

"As much as I would like to continue I want to get out of this room first" I said

"Good plan" he said grabbing my hand and following me to the door. I banged on the door

"Izzy you can let us out now" I shouted

She opened the door but stood in front of the doorway so we couldn't get out

"Prove it" she said with her hands on her hips

I looked up at Alec who leaned down and gave me a quick kiss. He pulled back and I smiled.

Izzy squealed with delight.

"Finally" she said

"Lucky that Jon was out" I said

"Coincidence much?" Izzy said waving her phone and I rolled my eyes

"We are very happy now Izzy but everyone has to promise right now that no one will tell Jon about me and Alec until I'm ready. Promise?" I said in a serious tone

"Promise" both Alec and Izzy said in an equally serious tone.

Just then we heard the door slam.

"I'm back" my mom called "I got us Pizza" we all walked down the hall my hand in Alec's

My mom looked at me and Alec and saw our hands together. I wasn't sure what she would say until she turned to look at Izzy

"So you finally did it huh, Izzy" mom said

"Of course" Izzy said standing proud but grabbing a slice of pizza.

"Wait you knew" I said to my mom

"Well its hard to miss the looks you've been giving each other. I mean did you see Alec's face on your first day here?" my mom said and both Alec and I blushed slightly.

"And Izzy told my her plan as well to make sure I was okay with it" mom added

"Hey mom can you do me a favour?" I asked

"Let me guess, don't tell Jon about you two?" she asked pointing at our hands

"How did you know?" Alec said

"I know a lot more than you think" she said "and yes I won't tell Jon but you have to promise me you'll tell him soon okay?" Mom said

"Yeah of course" I said letting go of Alec's hand and grabbing some pizza

"Speaking of where is Jon?" She asked

"Jace's" we all said through a mouthful of pizza

She nodded and grabbed some pizza before heading to her room
