Peace

Is it sitting down with those of your blood?
Having fun for once, this time not a dud?

Or is it quietly drawing in the dark of night?
Listening to songs that are mean to make fright?

Is it thinking of the one you love?
And of how you fit, just like a glove?

Or is it hugging the stuffed animal you hold so near?
The one who's counterpart is in the hands of the one you hold dear?

Maybe the way to peace is clear
Or maybe you have to shed a tear

You don't know the way, but it's okay
No one really does, that area is rather gray

But, there is one thing I know as true
So listen close to hear my clue

What makes you happy is something you'll find
Everyone finds it eventually, whether sighted or blind

What is this mystery you may ask of me?
Well, listen close and I'll tell you happily

When you find someone who loves you for you
You'll stick together, strong as glue

What's this got to do with peace, you ask?
Well, who better to help you with that task?

Family is all good and fine
And sometimes a lover is just a sign

But you'll find someone, I trust in you
And with that trust, your faith grew

So, remember that to find peace within you
Is a little luck and Life's subtle cues

I started writing this after a movie with my family, but it quickly turned from something of peace to love, and back again, ending up a strange blend of the two.

I like it, and I hope you do as well.

And, Landon?
Thanks for putting up with me for this long.
Thanks for inspiring the things I create.
Thanks for dealing with the long sad calls.
Thanks for the comfort on the days I needed it most.
Thanks for being the best kind of guy a girl could ever ask for.

In a way, you're my muse.
This poem is for you.

So, thank you.

As for the rest of you, all of you have, in your own way, helped me find a little bit of my own peace.

I hope I can do the same for all of you, someday.

Until next time, my little cinnamon rolls.
