a/n oh yes. Another part. Welcome.
This chapter is showcasing yet another view from the main event in the first 2 parts.Finn's POV
"Jaeden, do you know where the matches are?"
I called to the boy, who was currently rummaging through the desk compartment.
"I think Y/n might have some in her room. Girls like those fancy candles and shit."
I nodded, walking to her room.Sitting in that bathtub with her, she gave me a sense of comfort.
"Finn?"
I looked down and admired her.
"Yeah?"
"Y-you would never hurt Jack on purpose, right?"
Dumbfounded by her words, I immediately answered truthfully.
"God no, y/n. He's my best friend. And he means so, so much to me. I could never do anything to him."
She smiled back,
"I'm glad you think like that, Finn."
She pecked my lips, letting it linger just long enough.
"Look Finn, I'm sorry for what I did. It was a dick move,"
Jack was standing before us.
Being too taken over by the kiss, the small grin still lingered on my face. No matter how hard I tried to get words out, I couldn't.
"Fuck you Finn."
And then he was gone.Entering her sea foam coloured room, I was hit with a wave of nostalgia. Recalling the past memories her, Jack, Jaeden and I had experienced in here. Making my way around the perimeter, I found a pack of matches neatly placed on top of a scented candle.
She got up from her spot next to me, quite quickly.
"Finn! What the fuck! He tried to apologize and all you did was sit there on your ass smiling at him!"
The tears down her cheeks broke my heart. But I couldn't let something like this go because of pity.
"What was I supposed to do? Tell him I was sorry? That I regretted it? Well guess what? I don't."
And then the loud, ear piercing alarm played throughout the warehouse.
In that moment, it was like music to my ears.Opening the pack of matches, I could see something in neat handwriting.
Safety first, avoid the worst.
That means you; Jaeden, Jack & Finn.
I chuckled.
What a quirky one.I didn't have contact with y/n or Jack. I talked to Jaeden occasionally, but he knew tensions were high and that he couldn't choose sides.
Three days after, I couldn't take it anymore.
Ringing: Jacky Boy
The phone picked up after one ring.
"F-Finn."
"Jack. I've missed seeing you, dude."I know I shouldn't have been snooping around, but I found myself going through an album of polaroids. There were ones of us, the guys, landscapes, her.
"D-do you like Jack?"
There was one of her and Jack.
"Finn... you know what it's like."
And then one caught my attention.
"Jack, I fucked up. God, I didn't know what I was doing. You're my ride or die. And I'm nothing without my ride or die."
Even through the phone, I could see a smile on his face.
"I messed up too. But we're young. We're stupid. We make mistakes."It was a photo from when Y/n and I took a trip to the beach during the summer; a day away from it all.
"We're young."
I remember when she first entered the water, she cut her foot on a piece of glass. But nonetheless, she laughed it off when I had to carry her to first aid.
"We're stupid."
That was when I first realized how much she meant to me. How much one person can really change your life. And maybe this exact photo was the reason I acted out so harshly.
"We make mistakes."
I'm not going to let her slip through my fingers again. I can't let that happen.
a/n so since these have had really positive feedback, would you guys want it to be like a little mini series within this book? I have some ideas for the future plot, and I think it could turn out pretty well.
