a/n NOW we're getting into some tea
☕️ 🐸Jaeden's POV
"I told you, already. I'm perfectly fine."
"Jack! You're flat out drunk! Why would you do this to yourself?"
I felt bad shouting at the boy, but it was his actions that landed him in this spot.
I lowered my voice,
"Jack, just tell me what happened."As Jack, Y/n, and Finn entered the doors of the huge mansion; the smell of alcohol and sweat filled the air.
"Look, I-I don't think this is such a good idea."
Y/n stood uncomfortably, fiddling with her sweater hem.
"Same here, you never know what might happen at these things."
Finn joined sides with y/n, grabbing her hand in a comforting manner.
He didn't do it to tick Jack off, but apparently it did.
"Well you two go have fun somewhere else then, I'm gonna live in the moment."
Jack started shouting along to the music, disappearing with the crowd."I know I shouldn't have left them, but I was so mad. I wasn't myself."
I nodded, gesturing for him to continue."We can't leave him here."
Y/n spoke to Finn.
"Let's just grab some water, and we could just chill out upstairs, ok?"
She nodded, smiling at him. He took the hand that was holding hers, and guided her into the kitchen.
Looking to the left, they could see Jack was already intoxicated. A cup in one hand, dancing sloppily to the inaudible music.
"He's doing this to himself, y/n."
Still looking at the boy, she had pity in her eyes.
But was this the real Jack? Only time would tell."Jack... first off, your underage; which could've gotten you arrested, and second; why? How could you let this happen?"
A single tear rolled down his cheek, followed by a sad, sad laugh.
"Y/n.""This one should be empty."
Finn opened the door to what looked like one (of many) master suites. Luckily, this one was vacant.
Y/n walked in, and plopped on the bed, sipping her water bottle. Finn followed suit, and soon enough they were sitting in comfortable silence.
Meanwhile, Jack was downstairs, drinking, dancing, and shouting. It wasn't him anymore, whatever he did; whatever he said; it wasn't coming from his mouth. But he's the one that put the voice into him."After a few of whatever they were giving me, a girl approached me,"
He stopped, rubbing his head. The alcohol was wearing off.
I handed him the bottle of Advil.
He grabbed two, and took them dry.
"She asked me to help her find the washroom, and I said it was upstairs.""Could you show me where it is, love?"
Jack shuddered at the name.
"Y-yeah. I guess."
She followed him through the crowd of people. Jack just wanted to get this over with.
Even though his common sense was somewhere else, his mind was on y/n.
Going down the long hallway, Jack stopped at the bathroom door.
"Here it is."
She started getting closer, and closer."Before I knew what was going on, she just started kissing me, and I couldn't stop it."
Y/n and Finn sat in the room, laughing at little jokes each other would make.
The door burst open, revealing Jack's lips on another girl's.
Finn sat, mouth gaping wide open.
While y/n sat emotionless, not feeling anything at all.
When Jack finally realized who was in the room, they were already getting up and walking towards him.
Y/n went up to him, and slapped his cheek.
"You dick! You tell me you still love me and then you do this! Not again, Jack. Not. Again."
She stormed out of the room, grabbing Finn's hand in the process. They made it out of the house, getting weird glances because she was crying; but other than that no one turned a blind eye towards them.
Jack stood emotionless, holding his cheek. All the girl did was smirk.
He walked out slowly, making his way to the only person that would help him."And that's how I ended up here."
My eyes were red, truly feeling for him. My three best friends were so incompetent with each other lately. It hurt. A lot.
"You need to talk to her."
A shocked look came across his face.
"How?! She practically hates me.""Not again, Jack. Not. Again."
"You need to be there as a friend, right now. Not as someone that wants to date her."
He looked down at his shoes, but still responded.
"You're right."Finn's POV
Y/n and I sat on the couch, while I used my sleeve to wipe off the tears that would escape her eyes. I felt terrible, and as much as I wanted to kiss her and cuddle her until she felt better; I couldn't make the same mistake Jack did.
Maybe we are just better off as friends.
No. For as long as I could remember, I've wanted her to be mine.
But it's disrupting everything around you.
I wish things could go back to normal.
The doorbell chime went off, startling us both.
"I'll get it."
She nodded, and I unhooked my arm from her shoulders.
Opening the door, I could see Jack with the same red eyes as y/n.
He did this to her.
"What the hell do you want?"
He looked tired, sad, and angry at himself.
"I-is y/n here?"
He was much quieter than usual.
"Why would she want to see you?"
"I just want to talk."
"Well, you can talk to me."
He stood, keeping eye contact.
"I'm an idiot, okay? I know that. I know that I'll never even get the chance to be with y/n. Or even to be your best friends' again. But please, don't shut me out. You guys are all I have."
When I talked, I found my tone much lower than expected.
"L-look. I forgive you. But now isn't really a good time for her. She's really sad. She feels betrayed. Try and talk to her tomorrow."
He nodded his head understandingly.
"T-thank you Finn. Tell her I stopped by."
"Will do."
He started walking back into the night.
Shutting the door, I turned around to see y/n sobbing. She ran into a hug.
"Thank y-you. So, so much."
She couldn't talk without being interrupted by a sob.
"All I want is for us to be the best friends we were before this."
My words made her cry even harder.Maybe this is the only type of love I needed in the first place.
Maybe this is all she wanted.
A shoulder to cry on.
A best friend type of love.a/n so there's probably only going to be a couple more parts after this. Mainly because I don't want to drag out the plot.
Are we team Jack or Finn?
