Good morning. Feeling a little better today and was able to finish a chapter I started last night. Thank you very much for the prayers and encouragement. I will take the CT scan maybe this weekend, still need to see my doctor first. I will let you know what happens guys. Again thank you for being such good friends.
I know you waited for this chapter to see home Alden's confrontation with Janine unfolds. There's a twist in the end, you know me, I love to insert little twists here and there. I hope you will like how this arc ends, though.
Again, please read through the whole chapter and do not skip to read the ending immediately. Enjoy :)
Two days after Alden called Janine, they agreed to meet at 22 Prime, a restaurant in Discovery Suites in Ortigas. He was meeting her at seven in the evening, and booked a room so that Maine could wait for him while he and Janine talked. He and Maine were already checked in at 2:00 in the afternoon. They swam in the pool and had a heavy snack, ordering room service.
Alden had no plans of having dinner with Janine. He just wanted to talk with her, hoping an hour was enough, so that he could go back to Maine and cuddle with her in bed. He never could get enough of her, and felt he was lucky because Maine was the same with him. Despite the need to be together though, they still stuck to the decision of limiting their intimacy.
"Kinakabahan ako." Maine finally voiced out her apprehension. She hugged him from behind, squeezing his middle.
"You won't lose me sweetie. I promise you this won't take long."
"Why did we have to meet her here? Whose idea was this? Bakit sa hotel?"
"It was my idea. Later you will know why."
She sighed and looked at him with sad eyes.
"Baby, if you change your mind about me, I'll understand."
"Hey.......what happened to that feisty girl I proposed to, the one who stood up to Janine so bravely?"
"I'm afraid of losing you. But I want you to have this closure with her."
He turned and hugged her. Kissing her temple, he gently rocked her in his arms.
"I have this vision of us getting married on top of Faber Peak, with our friends and relatives attending. We'll have a good life, Maine. Children......five maybe......"
"Five talaga?"
"Ayaw mo?"
She smiled at him and put up her hands. "Eight. Or ten. I want an army of kids with you. Sayang genes mo, magparami tayo."
He laughed out loud and kissed her soundly. Damn, he loved her so much. She was his ray of sunshine, the sole reason he ever believed in love again.
