We enter the building that looks like a community centre. “Are you sure she is here?”

“Yes he is.”

“A male witch?”

“They prefer warlock but yeah.”

“Steve.”

“Relax, he is legit.”

Steve knocked on the door and slowly pushed it open. “Darren?”

“Prepare to be amazed.” He waves his hands in the air and whips his one hand toward the candle to light it. “Pretty cool right.”

“Oh please. I have seen better tricks from a street performer.”

“So this is the vampire you told me about.”

“Yes and we need a daylight ring.”

“Sure I will get started. Do you have the payment?”

“Yes, here. Now wave your wand.”

“Yes captain sir.” Steve handed him a plastic bag, turned around and left without a word.

I took a seat and leaned back.

“You are troubled.  What’s the matter sweetheart?”

“Please just focus on the ring.”

“O yes the ring. Choose one please.” He placed a tray of rings in front of me.

“This one.”

“Very well then.” His Irish accent was kind of cute.
He started chanting. If I was not a vampire I would want to be a witch.

“It’s done.”

“Thank you very much.”

“You are most welcome. And now my disappearing act, tell the captain I said thank you.”

“Will do.” And just like that he was gone. “Cloaking spell.”

I made my way down the hall and out the door. I stood there in the sun just soaking up the sunlight. I heard footsteps approaching me.

“What do you think?”

“It’s beautiful. I like it. How does it feel to be in the sun again?”

“It feels great. Thank you for everything.”

“No problem. Care to join me for a drink?”

“Yes please.”
