16 ➸ taking my phone

Dear Mackenzie,

Thank you for taking my cellphone out of my bag yesterday.

I was supposed to catch the bus home, because it was raining, but my bus card was in my phone case. Obviously, I couldn't call anyone to pick me up, because I had no phone.

I walked.

By the time I got home, I was dripping wet, my hair was running straggly down my back and there was water in every single compartment of my bag.

My footprints left soggy marks on the carpet, and I walked through to the kitchen to find my mother sitting at the kitchen bench.

She didn't even notice me there.

Tears filled my eyes at the thought of all that had happened, and I ran away- up the stairs to have a shower.

To wash away all the pain and hurt that you have caused me.
