SLITHER
CHAPTER XI🌑
"🆈🅾🆄 have betrayed our kind. " A woman dressed in white clothes was the speaker. Her eyes were a deep violet which radiated her wisdom and serenity. It had such depth to it that you would easily mistake it for an alternate universe. Her hair was a flawless grey which was long enough to pool by her feet and around her golden throne. She was a pale woman but a sight to see for mundane eyes.
A man was kneeled by her foot, his head hung low. His palms pressed together begging for mercy. He was trembling with fear. His once magnificently designed clothes were shredded and torn at most places. They were drenched in a crimson liquid which occasionally dripped down, forming a sleek pool around his figure.
The man was kneeled before many like him in similar attire. In a similar blood-dripping state. He was their representative. He was their leader. He was the man who led then into this.
"You have proven unworthy of the Council ," the lady in white spoke. "You were provided a chance to reconsider your decision previous to this horrendous day. You were warned of the consequences before this war begun. Your hunger for power and victory blinded you. You thought you could overthrow me.
"Me! Alexandria. But dear Barnabas, you failed to realise my true identity. You failed to realise the sole reason why I am seated at this throne. You failed to realise that I am not just Alexandria. You failed to realise that I am Mother. I am mother to you all. And mostly, you failed to realise that my worthy children would not turn against me.
"So, I, Alexandria, Queen of the Wiccan Society and head of The Crescent Coven, banish thee from my land. I banish Barnabas and your kind from this land. I curse you and all who turned against the Council, you lowly people, to slither on the dirt ground the rest of eternity. To serve the witches as slaves. And to be possessed by your own inner monster on the full moon, sucking out mundane life and survive with the guilt for days infinite.
"I, Alexandria, deprive you of any hope of breaking my curse for a hundred generations. Not until my descendant shall take life and become The White Serpent, whose blood at my feet may save you from your curse and grant you death. " The woman was furious but her voice did not betray her.
"Out of my sight!" she ordered.
Guards dressed in shiny armour took the man named Barnabas away and the crowd in the atrium were rushed out.
I woke up with a start.
It was just a dream. A really weird dream. A dream so strange that I can remember every single detail about it.
I gulped down some water from the bottle by my bed.
I shouldn't be surprised though. Normal had said goodbye to me the moment I stepped into this town. It was almost eight in the morning and the sun was already out, it shone in through the closed curtains at my window.
I lay in bed replaying the events of the past week in my mind. Myself and Cam had been meeting up at Borderline, a restaurant situated on the suburbs of what is considered to be the hub in Falan.
Cam was a really sweet guy. Much in the contrary to my first impression of him. And we seemed to be growing on each other. I wasn't sure at first but when Cam asked me out yesterday, my red hot face was confirmation enough that I had the hots for him.
I started talking to Clark a bit more. I could tell he was really trying to make up for his lost times with me. I didn't return the pocket money he handed to me every second Sunday, though I never really spent it either. I had enough to get along fine from my work at Charlie's.
