Qibli couldn't stand the thought of Winter dying somewhere while he was still just continuing his life like nothing happened. So he decided to leave. He told all his teachers that he had to go for a little while, but Tsunami wasn't about to let him leave without an explanation. "Why exactly do you need to leave?" Qibli continued packing his things, not looking at her. "Personal issues." Tsunami snorted. Obviously that wouldn't be enough. "Right. Your just a kid. What kind of personal issues could a dragon your age even have??"  "Look I don't want to have this conversation with you right now. Honestly, I NEED to leave. I cant focus on my studies if I don't do this, and I'll end up failing. Can you just let me have this?! Please!" Tsunami looked taken back at his sudden outburst. "Okay.. I'll give you a week. Is that okay?" Qibli nodded. "Sorry for snapping at you, Tsunami. Would you mind informing my other teachers of my leave?" Tsunami stood there and watched him pack for a few more moments before turning to walk away. "Qibli?" "Hmm?" She gave him a meaningful side ways glance. "Be careful when you get to the ice kingdom. A dragon like you would instantly be attacked for trespassing. Make sure you camouflage well." And with that she left. Qibli stood there for a few minutes, awestruck. How?? He didn't have time for this. He grabbed his bag, tying it to his leg and wrapping the other strap around his neck. With one final look at his- and Winter's- cave, he leapt out the window and soared into the sky.

The first two days were spent flying; constantly flying. Soon he spotted the barrier between the forest and the icy tundra. Landing, he surveyed his surroundings, made sure he wasn't being followed, and took of again. This time, he swung himself higher into the sky, hoping the clouds would disguise him enough. After all, a sandwing's golden scales were sure to stand out against an almost entirely blue and white environment. Another few hours of flying, and he was about to give up, thinking he was totally lost and going in the wrong direction. Before he could give in to the urge to dive and lay on the ice, he saw it. The kingdom was gigantic, specifically the castle. The top of the ice palace extended even higher than Qibli was flying. He decided the best way to hide himself, would be to land on the very top of the castle, on the opposite side of the guards. He did so with about as much grace as you would expect from a sandwing on ice. He slid off the roof and onto a balcony. Freaking out, he ducked low to the ground, hoping to god he wouldn't be spotted. He was not expecting ice to be that slippery. 'I'm gonna die I'm gonna die I'm gonna die..' he was so ready to accept the fate given to him, but another thought crossed his mind. 'Winter.' He came here to save him, and the last thing he would do was give up without doing just that. He grabbed onto the window's ledge and launched into the sky, spiraling to gain more speed. Once he was at the very top, he landed, much more gracefully this time, I might add. He took in the scenery, but quickly realized what was more important that sight seeing. Hopping off the ledge, he caught himself almost instantly, hovering by the window of the top room. At this point, he was still above the cloud line. It was unusual for the clouds to be this low, maybe a snow storm? It doesn't matter. Winter does. He pressed on the window, to no avail. He tried to pull it, having the same effect. He then pulled up instead of towards himself, and the window clicked, sliding smoothly upward and clicking into place there. Qibli was proud of himself, for some reason, and slipped into the castle. The interior was just as cold, if not somehow colder, than the outside, making Qibli shiver involuntarily. "Jeez.." he whispered, his breath coming out in puffs of white air. He shook off the cold as best he could, and darted down the corridor. All the doors were alike, and completely blank. So helpful. Before he realized where he was going, or that it was downward, the hallway opened into one that was crowded with Icewings walking into and out if the rooms. He cursed quietly and ducked behind the wall, hoping he wasn't seen. None of them looked like the one he needed. Hopping out the window closest to him out of sheer panic, he realized what he had done. The ground below him was a busy street in the icewing kingdom, and he was hovering just above sudden death. "Fuuuudge." He was vigorously flapping his wings, but his fatigue finally caught up to his adrenaline. All he could do was glide down to the ground. Landing right in the center of the crowd, he realized what they were all looking at. Not him at least, but it was the dragons from the diamond trials. He looked up at the dias, and his heart stopped.
