Evan glared down. Particularly on Avril's arm. He froze. Avril payed no attention to that, though. She just mindlessly stared into space. Evan's eyebrows curled up. He grabbed Avril's hand and turned her arm slightly. He looked into her eyes. This caught Avril's attention. She looked at Evan. He realized what he had been looking at. She pulled away her arm.
Evan never said a word.
He didn't ask why.
He didn't ask how.
He was just sad.
And disappointed.
His facial expressions said it all. Avril's eyes traveled to her feet. Her cheeks grew red. Her blue eyes were glossy. Evan put two fingers under Avril's chin and lifted it up. He once again looked deeply into her eyes. Avril bit her lip.
Evan closed his eyes.
