By now, Evan was checked up on and they said he could leave his room and check out. They prescribed him with some medicine and instructed him to take it easy.

All he could do was sit next to next to Avril and rub her arm, sometimes leaning his head on hers.

"Do you think Evan's okay?" Becca whispered to Jesse.

"He'll be fine. He's just dramatic," Jesse whispered back.

"He seems pretty down, though."

"He's just afraid she won't wake up and stuff. That's all."

"That's all? Seems serious."

"Meh. He'll be fine when she wakes up."

"K."

In the room came Matt with a muffin in his hand.

"Guys! There's free muffins and coffee and hot chocolate down the hall!" he whispered. Whispering wasn't necessary, but it just felt appropriate.

"Oh, cool." Everyone walked down the hall. Nobody really had any food since they were supposed to go for breakfast, but that obviously didn't happen.

So everyone except Evan went to get their muffins and stuff.

Evan dragged his nail gently up Avril's arm as if he were trying to sooth her, but she wouldn't really care if he did it or not because she was asleep.

But then he caught himself. He glared at her arms again. His whole started to tremble. He didn't want to hurt her.

At that point, he was sure.

And then he got scared.

Why is she doing this? What happened?

Something horrible could be happening.

And he didn't know.

And that made him want to throw up.

He couldn't protect Avril like he thought he could.

The thoughts took over his mind like a black fog.

He couldn't take it.

All he could think of is Avril being hurt.

He stood up and shouted "Shut up!"

In walked the nurse with the red glasses.

"Is everything alright?"

"Yeah, sorry. Just scared myself a little bit, " his voice was shaky.

"Are you sure?"

"Mhm. Just was bothered by a thought, " he looked down at his feet.

The woman had a concerned look. "So you screamed 'shut up' ?"

"Yeah."

"Well. If anything is wrong, let me know. I know you have a concussion and that might mess things up in your head."

"Do you think I woke Avril?" he held a worried expression.

"No. It wouldn't. We put her in a small coma to do some tests on her."

"What about the other patients?"

"Well, these walls are pretty thick, soundproof almost. So I don't think so. But just try to keep it down please."

Evan nodded.

"Well, while I'm here, I guess we'll try to wake her up. I'll call the doctors down. So, I'm going to have to ask you to leave the room for just a bit. Is that okay?"

Evan nodded again, drained of his words, and dragged his feet out of the room.

He walked down the hall to see everyone hanging out and getting their food.

"Hey Evan. How's Av doing?" Jesse asked.

He shrugged.

"What's wrong?"

He shook his head. "Nothing.''

"You sure Avril's okay?"

"They're gonna wake her up."

"You hungry?"

Evan shook his head.

"But you're like, always hungry."

"Just shut up!" Evan snapped.

"Seriously Evan, what's wrong?"

"Nothing! Just be quiet!"

"Alright, alright. Jeez."

Evan began to groan. He held his head in pain.

"Okay, you're definitely not fine, " Jesse ran over to him.
