The Swing Set

Embarking onto his childhood again he found his swing just the same
The tire still hung tirelessly though he
Couldn't find himself there again

He thought of the see-saw
Which he never had
ridden on
Not that he never wanted
It's just,
There was no one
on the other side
To climb on

It's like waiting for someone
To help you up
He didn't need that
Because he was enough

He even thought of the slide
And felt,
What's the point climbing on
When the only point of climbing on
Is to fall down

The past oscillated him
Back and forth,
back and forth
But he wasn't scared
As for every time it brought
Him near the clouds
It brought him back to his earth
As well

He found closure in his now
Re"tired" friend
The one who helped him to rise up
The one helped him to do so
All alone
Not a slide
Not a see-saw
Not even the swing set,my friend
But his stride
His flaws
Himself

So
I hope you
had your swing set
And I hope you had you
as your friend
To push you through
As well
