I wake up to the sounds of waves gently washing on the shore. I sit up and look around. Where am I? I think, bewildered. I stand up with trembling legs. I look to my left. Ocean. Miles after miles of ocean. I look to my right. A large stretch of palm trees and jungle plants. The sun is beating down on me, and I can feel sunstroke coming on. My head aches, so I can't think straight. What's the first thing you do when you are lost? I think. All I can remember are the letters SOS. "Hmmm..." I say, tapping my chin, thinking about what I could do to spell SOS. And then, I see them. Millions of seashells all over the beach. "Yes!!! that's it!!" I say out loud. I start picking up seashells and forming the letters.

I finish, and now I'm parched and starving. My headache is getting worse and I can hardly walk because it is so hot. The storm has definitely passed.

"So...Thirsty." I gasp. I look at the tree line. I have to go in sometime or another. I start walking, nervously looking around. Who knows what kind of monstrous, bloodthirsty creatures could be in here!!

After about 30 minutes of walking, 7 twigs snapping and scaring me to death and a count of 38 spiders (luckily, I don't have arachnophobia!) I find a small creek running through the jungle. "Finally!!" I gasp. I lean down and drink greedily. It's nice and cool, and I can't remember the last time I bathed, so I jump in.

I lay there in the shallow water for a long time, maybe about an hour. When I hop out the air is muggy against my skin again, drying it instantly.

What's the next thing I have to do? I think. Water, food can wait for a bit... oh!! shelter!!! But how do I make it...

I start gathering sticks and putting them in a pile. I'd never built anything before, so I don't really know what I am doing. I find some jungle twine and started putting the sticks together. When I finish, it looks horrible, and I can hardly sit inside it. It'll have to do," I sigh, and lay down inside it to take a quick nap.
