Frozen Duel

"Our analysis shows that your chances of escape are zero percent and falling sharply. In other words, you kids are finished," Crump said.
"Well put, Crump. It's only a matter of time before the five of us are set free from this virtual prison. Remember, when one of us defeats you, we'll claim control of your body leaving your mind trapped here forever," Gansley told us.
"These crooks haven't changed a bit," Seto and I snarled.
"Let's start this party. You five stiffs are going down!" Joey shouted.
"Who's going down?" Gansley asked. A hole appeared under Joey and he fell.
"Joey!" Serenity and I called.
"As you can see, before the virtual dueling begins, we plan to separate all of you. Tata," Gansley said. Tea was the next to fall in a hole.
"Tea!" Yugi shouted. Serenity and Kendra were next.
"Serenity! Kendra!" I cried out. Tristen joined them with Duke. Mokuba ran over to Seto then.
"Seto!" He called. Its then he and Seto fell through a hole.
"NO!" I cried for my brothers.
"Sera, look out!" Yugi shouted. I then fell screaming.
'SERA!' I heard Yami shout. I blacked out and woke up to find myself in the snow. I sat up.
"What the hell?" I asked looking around. I then saw a penguin. "Oh great, now I'm seeing penguins," I mumbled. The penguin laughed sounding like...Crump!? "Crap, it's you," I glared.
"Language, Ms. Kaiba. Hmm...I always wondered what it would be like to have your body," he said creepily. I glared harder.
"If I knew you were such a pervert, I would have made sure you were fired the first chance I got," I growled.
"Brat! Pick your virtual deck now!" He ordered. I rolled my eyes and did so. "Now, choose your Deck Master, any monster you want," he told me. I glared at him.
"Fine, I choose Rainbow Dragon!" I said as my dragon appeared beside me.
"Alright, my Deck Master is myself, the Nightmare Penguin," Crump told me.
"No...I thought you were a punching bag. I would have happily punched you," I said to him making him growled. "Aw, is the poor penguin mad?" I asked like I was talking a little kid.
"ENOUGH!" He shouted. I shrugged.
(Crump-4000, Sera-4000)
"Okay, I'll start then," I said. I looked at my deck. "First I play a card face down then I summon Kaiser Seahorse (1700 ATK, 1650 DEF) in attack mode. My turn is done," I told him as my monster appeared. I focused on Yami then. 'Yami?' I asked.
'Sera? Are you okay?!' Yami asked worried.
'Yeah...just going up against Crump...it had to be this pervert,' I mentally grumbled.
'I'm dueling Gansley...he's a Duel Monster though, the Deepsea Warrior,' Yami told me.
'Figures, Crump is the Nightmare Penguin. Yami, you and Yugi have to be careful. Promise me,' I told him.
'I promise so long as you do, Sera,' Yami told me.
'I promise too. Good luck...I love you,' I told him.
'Good luck to you as well. I love you too,' he thought back.
"I summon Giant Red Seasnake (1800 ATK, 800 DEF) in attack mode. I then activate Cold Wave to prevent any spell or trap card from being activated in my next turn. Giant Red Seasnake, attack her Kaiser Seahorse!" Crump ordered.
(Crump-4000, Sera-3700)
I felt something cold around my ankles and looked down. There was ice! I could feel it through my boots!
"What the hell?!"
"Did I forget to mention? When one of us loses life points, our bodies will be engulfed with ice and when you lose, you'll be covered in ice completely!" Crump laughed.
'New problem...' I thought to Yami.
'What is it?'
'If I lose any life points, a part of me gets engulfed with ice and if I lose then I'll be frozen over completely!' I told him.
'Sera, stay calm. You need a clear head if you're going to win. No matter what, I'm there fighting alongside you as you are me. Your brothers are there as well as our friends. You can do this,' Yami told me. I took a deep breath.
'You're right. Thank you, love,' I thought to him.
'No problem. Now, win this duel and I will do the same,' he told me.
'You got it!' I drew my cards...a Crush card! Seto must have snuck it into my deck somehow. I smiled a little. Thank you, big brother. I need a weaker card first. "I set another card and a monster face down," I told him.
"Seasnake, attack her face down monster! Then I'll set one card face down," Crump said. The Seasnake then destroyed my Celtic Guardian. Good, now I can activate my spells and traps. I smirked as I drew my card.
"I play one card face down. Then I'll use Brain Control so I can take control of your Seasnake. Giant Red Seasnake, attack Crump directly!" I ordered. He was then attacked.
(Crump-2000, Sera-3700)
Now the ice was half way up his little body.
"Gee, it must be pretty cold over there, but of course since you're a penguin, it won't really affect you. That will soon change though," I smirked.
"We'll see about that! Giant Red Seasnake, attack her monster!" Crump ordered. I kept my smirk.
"Thanks for destroying my Gazelle, now I activate Michizure! When one of my monsters is sent to the grave this card allows me to send one of yours as well. I chose your Seasnake!" I told him. I draw another card. "I now play Magicians Valkyria (1600 ATK, 1800 DEF) in attack mode. That ends my turn," I said to him.
"I play Flying Penguin (1200 ATK, 1000 DEF) in attack mode. Then I equipped him with Penguin Sword raising its attack to 2200. Attack her Magician Valkyria!" He ordered.
(Crump-2000, Sera-3100)
The ice was now at my knees and now I'm shaking from the cold. I draw my card.
"I summon Luster Dragon (1900 ATK, 1600 DEF) in attack mode. I then set one card face down," I said.
"Flying Penguin, destroyed her Dragon!" Crump ordered. My Dragon is destroyed.
(Crump-2000, Sera-2400)
Now the ice was at my thighs. I draw my cards. I can't use a Kuriboh, I don't have Multiply for it yet. I then see Summoned Skull, could work.
"I play Summoned Skull (2500 ATK, 1200 DEF) in attack mode," I said.
"I equipped Flying Penguin with another Penguin Sword brining his attack to 3200. Attack her Summoned Skull!" He ordered.
(Crump-2000, Sera-900)
Now the ice is at my shoulders, but my hands are free, thank god.
"Haha, looks like my 97 percent chance of getting your body is true! Oh, I'll have so much fun!" Crump laughed. I glared.
"W-we'll see a-about that, b-bastard!" I growled with my teeth chattering. Rainbow Dragon looked at me worried.
"Sera..."
"I'll be okay, Lira. No worries, my friend," I told her with a small smile. I grabbed my cards and smirked. "I-I summon D-Dark Magician Girl and bring R-Rainbow Dragon onto the field. I-I will then use P-polymerization on them. D-Dark Rainbow Dragon (4500 ATK, 4000 DEF), come forth, my friend!" I shouted. "Attack F-Flying Penguin and Crump directly! Ultimate Crystallization attack!" I ordered. My dragon attacked destroying Flying Penguin, brining Crump to 500. My dragon then attacked him, taking him down.
"No! My chances were high! I was supposed to win!" Crump shouted. It's then Crump disappears into thin air as the ice around me disappeared. I fell to my knees and tried to warm myself up. I then blacked out.
"Sera! Sera, wake up! Please, Sera! Open your eyes!" I heard Yami calling. I groaned and opened my eyes to see his amethyst ones.
"Y-Yami..." I said, teeth chattering from the cold. He was holding me, trying to warm me up as he rubbed my arms. I snuggled into his warmth, my head in the crook of his neck.
"Thank goodness, I was scared you wouldn't wake up," Yami said in relief before kissing my head.
"Sorry I w-worried you...w-where am I?" I asked still a little cold.
"Still in this arctic area. I just stopped Gansley. Since you are still you, I take it you defeated Crump," he told me. I smirked a little.
"Hey...I'm not going to let some stupid penguin take me down....you know that," I said to him. He chuckled. I then realized.
"Oh no. Mokuba and Seto," I said worried.
"We'll find them, Sera. I promise. Let's just get you a little warmer first. You were chilled to the bone," he told me. Yugi appeared beside us. He looked at me worried.
'Are you okay, Sera?' He asked me. I smiled a little.
"Let's just say I wish I had an electric blanket right about now," I told him. He chuckled a little with Yami. Yami took off his coat and wrapped around me. I concentrated on my Crystal and Seto. 'Seto?' I asked.
'Sera? Are you okay?! Where are you?!' He asked worried.
'I'm okay, just ran into Crump, dueled him, defeated him, and now I'm with Yugi,' I told him.
'Are you okay, though?' He asked me.
'Well...while losing life points, ice began to engulf my body,' I said.
'WHAT?!'
'Calm down, I'm fine now. I'm starting to warm up now. Are you and Mokuba okay?' I asked.
'Yes, we're fine. Just worried about you,' he told me. I smiled a little.
'Hey, I'm the one who's supposed to worry about you boys. Don't take my roll,' I joked. He mentally chuckled a little.
'No promises. We'll seen you soon, little sister,' he told me.
'Okay, love you, guys,' I told him.
'We love you too,' he said before our connection was broke.
"Sera?" Yami asked.
"Sorry, I was talking with Seto. This Crystal really comes in handy," I told him. He nodded. I sighed. "The next time I come up with a virtual reality idea, hit me over the head and call me an idiot," I told him. He chuckled. We both stood up, Yami supporting me. "Man, when we get out of here, I'm going on my laptop and searching for any signs of those five creeps. Once I do, I'm deleting them permanently so they never hurt my loved ones I again," I said glaring ahead.
"Sera, calm down. You can't work yourself up," he told me.
"Right, sorry," I said to him. He gave a small smile before letting Yugi take over. I went to hand his jacket back, but Yugi shook his head.
"You keep it," he told me. I gave a look.
"I'm warm enough now that I'm out of that ice. I don't want you to get cold since you are wearing a sleeveless shirt. Now take the coat back, mister," I told him in my stern voice.
'You may as well take it back, Young One. You know how stubborn she is,' Yami chuckled. Yugi sighed and took the jacket before putting it back on.
"Good," I said with a nod. "Now, let's see if we can find the others," I said. Yugi nodded.
"Good idea," he agreed. We started walking for a little while until we saw something in the distance. "Huh? What's that?" Yugi asked squinting his eyes to look better. As the figure got closer I was able to see better.
"It's Tea!" I told him. We both ran up and I hugged the girl. "Are you okay, Tea?" I asked her.
"Yeah, just a little chilled. How about you two?" She asked.
"Well, I took down Gansley and Sera defeated Crump. So we're okay for now," Yugi answered. I looked around.
"We should see if anyone else is around. Have you seen the others, Tea?" I asked.
"No, I haven't sadly," she said.
"Well, that soon we get going, the soon we'll find them," Yugi commented. Tea and I nodded and we got moving. Along the way, Yugi had given Tea his coat since she was freezing. We kept walking until we saw glaciers that got thicker which made it colder. It was like the glaciers formed a canyon.
"Should we turn back?" Tea asked.
"We could always try and climb upward," Yugi suggested. I gave him a look.
"With what equipment? And how would we climb up slippery ice?" I asked him.
"Uh, right," Yugi agreed.
"Hey, guys! Is that a door?" Tea asked pointing. We looked over and saw a wooden door against one of the walls.
"Should we open it?" Yugi asked.
"Why the hell not? Let's go!" I told them running forward. I just want to get somewhere warm! We opened the door to find ourselves in a court room.
"Who let in the draft?" Joey asked turning.
"It's Joey!" Yugi said.
"Hey, Yugi! Tea! Sera! Where ya been?" Joey asked smiling.
"Order!" We heard. We looked over and saw Judge Man. "Settle down, this court is still in session in case you haven't noticed."
"You're on trial?" Yugi asked.
"Um...who are you dueling?" I asked.
"Johnson," Joey replied. I growled.
"Frist Gansley with Yugi, then me with that pervert Crump, and now Joey with Johnson! Well, that leaves two more of these pathetic freaks," I said.
"I'm going to wipe the courtroom floor with him!" Joey told me.
"I believe it's my move," Johnson said drawing a card. "So sit down. You three are lucky I don't have you ejected from this courtroom," he said.
"Oh yeah, that would be such a tragedy," I mumbled sarcastically as we took a seat.
"This doesn't look good. Joey doesn't have any monsters and it's this guy's turn," Yugi said worried.
"Come on, Joey," Tea routed.
"You can do it, bro," I said.
"I summon Curtain of the Dark Ones (600 ATK 500 DEF) then I reveal my face down card. Activate Polymerization to fuse together my Mystical Elf and my Curtain of the Dark Ones. Meet Kamionwizard (1300 ATK 1100 DEF). Next I'll play the card Sinister Justice. This allows my fusion monster to attack in the same turn of which it was summoned. Now, Kamionwizard, attack his life points directly!" Johnson ordered. Joey is then attacked.
"Oh on, Joey!" The three of us shouted.
(Johnson-200, Joey-1200)
"Lucky move, Johnson," Joey said gritting his teeth.
"Joey's in big trouble. As long as Sinister Justice is on the field, Johnson gets 800 extra life points every time he attacks Joey's life points with his Kamionwizard," Yugi said. I nodded.
"How's that again?" Joey asked us.
"The spikey headed pipsqueak is right," Johnson said.
"His life points are going up!" Joey gasped.

"And there's more. I place this card face down and seal your doom!" Johnson told him.
"If it weren't for that trap card, I would have won this duel. Now every time he attacks me he gets stronger and stronger! You planned this all along, didn't ya, Johnson?!" Joey asked.
"Of course, but I have far worse in store for you, Joseph," Johnson laughed. "So far all the evidence points toward your defeat. I find you guilty of more dueling," Johnson told him.
"Oh yeah? We'll just see, my move," Joey said. He drew his card. "Now I place this card, Panther Warrior (2000 ATK) in attack mode! And then I'll place one card face down. That's it for me, Judge," Joey told him.
"Hm, you're up to something. Oh well, I'm not too worried, because I have this card. Ready, Joseph? Reveal the magic card, Leading Question. This card adds 800 attack points to any monster that's made up of two monsters fused together. So now my Kamionwizard (2100 ATK) is now stronger than your Panther Warrior. Wizard, attack now!" Johnson ordered.
"Not so fast, Mr. Tall, Dark, and Gruesome. You triggered my trap. Go, Skull Dice! The higher I roll, the more attack points your monster loses," Joey said as the dice rolled. It landed on six. "Yeah!" Joey cheered. The dice rolled again and landed on one.
"What?!" I gasped.
"A one?! No way!" Joey shouted. He glared at Johnson. "Alright, I don't know how you did that, but I got my eye on you," Joey told him. Panther Warrior was destroyed.

"Once again, you have no monsters on the field and as for me, you remember my Sinister Justice card, don't you? It gives me another 800 life points," Johnson said.
(Johnson-1800, Joey-1100)
"Not again!" Joey growled.
"That will happen every time my Kamionwizard attacks your life points," Johnson said. Yugi stood up.
"Stop this guy!" Yugi told Joey.
"You almost had him beat once...until he turned things around and whooped ya," Tea said.
"Tea...so not helping," I told her. I looked at Joey. "You can do this, bro!" I told him.
"Order in the court. Make your move," Johnson said.
"Oh, put a sock in it!" I growled. Joey looked at his cards.
"What's the matter? Did little Joseph use up all of his best monsters in the first five minutes of the duel?" Johnson mocked.
"NO!" Joey denied.
"Well, make your move," Johnson told him.
"Alright, fine, Johnson," Joey drew his card. "I summon Swordsman of Landstar (500 ATK, 1200 DEF)," Joey said.
"Joey...I so hope you know what you're doing," I mumbled.
"I do, Ser. And then I this. My Graceful Dice. Yeah! Raise my Swordsman's attack points with a high roll!" Joey said. The dice landed on a six and I knew something was going to happen. "Alright! It worked!" All of a sudden the dice rolled to a one and I glared at Johnson. "What did I do to deserve all this?!" Joey freaked.
"I've never seen him have such terrible luck before. Poor Joey," Tea said. I growled.
"He doesn't have terrible luck, Tea. It's all Johnson," I stated.
"What?"
"Johnson is somehow moving the dice. Joey rolled them to sixes, but they rerolled, landing on ones. What do you think now?" I asked.
"I see, you think Johnson is cheating," Yugi said. I nodded.
"I wouldn't put it past that snake," I lowly growled. Swordsman of Landstar was now gone.
(Johnson-1800, Joey-600)
Joey placed two cards face down. Johnson played his Pot of Greed card. What he didn't know is that Joey set a trap allowing him to draw five more cards. I smirked. The Gamble card.
"You see, I have no cards and you have six which is exactly the combination I needed in order to activate my trap card," Joey smirked.
"Gamble?" Tea asked. I nodded with a smirk.
"Yup, though it's a risky card, if it works, Joey can turn this whole game around and it starts with a coin," I said. I have faith that Joey will get this.
"And what exactly is so risky about it, Sera?" Tea asked me.
"Well, Joey flips a coin in the air and he calls heads or tails. If he gets it right then he gets to draw five cards," I informed.
"But if he's wrong, then Joey's next turn gets skipped and he can't afford to let that happen. It could cost him the entire duel," Yugi added. Joey flipped his coin. "Come on, Joey! You can do this!" Yugi told him.
"We're right with you, bro!" I told him. He called for heads...it was tails. I know this isn't his luck...its Johnson at work again!
"It's still my turn and I activate Scapegoat!" Joey said. The four cute colorful goats came out.
"Are those fur balls supposed to frighten me? I'll have them dismissed from this trial in no time," Johnson said. He drew his card, Reinforcement of the Army magic card. He then fused together his Armaill warrior and One Eyed Shield Dragon created Dragoness the Wicked Knight (1200 ATK, 900 DEF). Kamionwizard attacked the orange Scapegoat. Dragoness now had an attack of 2000 and attacked the blue Scapegoat. Because Joey had to skip his turn, his pink Scapegoat was attacked and then the red one was attacked afterwards. All of a sudden there was a light. Noah appeared. I glared.
"Yugi, Tea, hold me back so I don't kill that kid," I told them. Yugi grabbed me so I wouldn't attack. "Thank you," I told him. He nodded.
"Time out! Stop the duel!" Noah called out.
"Um...crazy kid say what now?" I asked.
"Noah, you can't, sir, please! I was only a few moves away from taking over this fool's body!" Johnson said.
"You don't deserve that prize, Johnson. Not after what you just pulled. Sera was right," Noah told him.
"So that bastard was cheating!" I growled.
"Sad to say it's true. The honorable Judge Man is nothing but a fraud and has been cheating you from the very beginning," Noah said to Joey. "He's been using my virtual technology to tamper with your dice rolls," Noah said.
"I'm not surprised with this slime ball," I grumbled.
"How about I tamper with your face, Mr. So Called Man of Justice! You big fat fake!" Joey shouted at Johnson.
"I'll help ya, Joey!" I told him.
"But, Noah, you must understand! I couldn't risk losing this! I can't take living in this virtual prison for one moment longer! It's torture!" Johnson said.
"Your excuses bore me. I brought you five into my world with the understanding under my leadership, you would destroy Seto Kaiba and his little friends, but if you cheat I can't prove that I'm more deserving than him!" Noah said. I glared at the kid. No one is more deserving than my brother!
'Sera, please, calm down,' Yami thought to me. I took a deep calming breath.
'Sorry...'
'It's alright, completely understandable,' he told me with a small smile. Noah said he had enough of living in Seto's shadow. He was more deserving and should have gotten Gozaburo's attention and prove himself to him. My eyes widened, but Gozaburo's been gone for five years! Who the hell is this kid? Joey told Noah that he still wants to duel Johnson, but Johnson has to duel fairly. Noah agreed and left. Because Johnson had to play fair, Joey won. I grinned and hugged the boy I thought of as a brother.
"Great job!" I told him.
"Thanks, sis," He said to me. I looked at all of them now.
"We have to find the others. Serenity is out there and she has no experience in dueling. Honestly, if Kendra is with her, then we have no worries," I said.
"Why do you say that, Sera?" Tea asked.
"I taught that girl everything I know. She's close to my level which is good," I said to them. They nodded.
"We should get going," Yugi said. I nodded and with that we left.
