Friday...

Alan had been anxious since before he went to bed last night. Alexa and Julia had taken Kaycee out for the day so Alan could have some time to make sure everything was perfect. He sighed as he leaned against the bathroom sink. His hands, still clammy form the shower he had just taken, were white knuckling the edge of the counter. He looked in the mirror and smirked. He had this. He knew that Kaycee loved him, and he loved her. God, did he love her. Every little thing about her. The mere thought of her caused his skin to set fire. He wanted her in every way a man could possibly want a woman. They had been through enough to write their own book. He wanted this. She wanted this. It would be fine. No, it would be perfect.

12 pm - 6.5 hours until the proposal.

Kaycee was galavanting around London with Alexa and Julia. They had gone shopping at almost every store. Alan had left a credit card for Kaycee with a note that said "have fun." Alexa tried to convince Kaycee to buy the most obnoxious things but she happily refrained. She bought a dress for tonights excursion, specific instructions from her beloved of course, and a few other things that she knew she would be more than content with. They had passed by a bridal shop and Kaycee stopped as she saw a gorgeous gown in the window. She sighed as Alexa and Julia exchanged silent glances.

"One day." Alexa put a soft hand on Kaycee's shoulder.

"Definitely." Julia giggled and Kaycee cocked an eyebrow but shrugged it off.

They returned home around 2 and immediately began to help her get ready. Alan wasn't home, which seemed odd to Kaycee because he hadn't mentioned that he wouldn't be home.

It genuinely took Kaycee four hours on account of the fact that she wasn't in charge of anything. Julia and Alexa had barked orders at her from showering to putting on her shoes. She was relieved that it was finally 6:00 and she could leave the house. She looked in the mirror and sighed. She thought the dress was a bit much but the girls insisted that it was beautiful. It was long, dark green, and extremely form fitting.

She gave a little twirl for the girls and they giggled, clapping and giving her the finishing touches. Her long hair was in a half up - half down pony tail style, very simple. And she wore diamond, probably cubic zirconia, and threw on some sparkly bangles. She heard a car pull up outside and sighed. Alan sent Taylor to pick her up and bring her to the secret destination. She sat in the car, staring at her phone and watching each minute pass. She kept reminding herself to breathe. Finally, after 45 pain-staking minutes, they arrived and Taylor opened the door, a smile beaming on his face. Kaycee smiled back at him and couldn't help the nervous laugh she let escape her lips when he said "Have fun."

She walked down a long pathway until she saw him. Alan was standing in a small gazebo, surrounded by strings of white lights. There was a table in the center, presumably where they'd be eating. She made eye contact with him and watched his lips curl into a delicious smirk. She bit her dark red lipstick clad lip and smirked. She couldn't help but fall even more in love with him. He took a few steps toward her and smiled, kissing her gently on the cheek.

"Good evening, my love." She smirked.

"Hi." He ushered her to sit down. He helped her push her chair in and went around to his. He waved his hand and a small group of waiters approached, pouring water and wine. They placed down a small plate of appetizers and left the two alone. Alan kept looking up at Kaycee, which of course she noticed and said nothing until she caught him for the 6th time. "What are you looking at?" He smiled.

"The most beautiful view on this Earth." She couldn't help but blush. They finished their meal about an hour later and Alan lead Kaycee to a large balcony, similar to the one they had met on. She noticed the small detail and smiled. "Kaycee?" She was looking out at the skyline, admiring the view.

"Hmmm?"

"Do you see a future with me? A happy one?" She turned to him and smiled.

"I do." Alan felt a raw pull in his chest. God, how he had longed to hear those words. He kissed her softly and stepped back.

"Stay here." She raised a brow and watched as he walked down the stairs and out of sight. She heard her phone buzz a few minutes later and she looked at the message that popped up on the screen.

To find me, follow the lights ;)

She giggled and found a distinct stream of white lights leading down a flight of spiral stairs. She followed and found herself in a small stone courtyard, surrounded by small trees. She continued to follow the lights through a maze of trees. When the string of lights stopped she looked at the sight before her, a large lump forming at the base of her throat as she held back tears.
