Kaycee looked at herself in the full length mirror standing in the corner, smoothing the creases from her dress. She sighed nervously. She turned around and watched as Alan straightened his tie. She walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his torso and lightly scratching as his chest.

"Are you sure we can't just stay home and snuggle?" Alan chuckled as his fiancee hid her face against his back.

"I'm positive. Darling, they're your parents. They love you." Alan kissed Kaycee's forehead as she groaned in protest. He chuckled again. "You'll be fine." Kaycee rolled her eyes and went to find her shoes. Alan checked his watch, 6:26. "Baby, we have out head out. Are you ready?" Kaycee appeared a few seconds later.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Alan chuckled and kissed her on the cheek.

"Taylor is outside waiting for us." Kaycee nodded and proceeded to walk out the front door, with Alan following closely behind. When they reached the car, Taylor opened the door and Kaycee  and Alan scootched in. They went straight to the hotel to pick up Linda and Richard. They both entered the car without a word. Kaycee sat nervously bouncing her leg. Linda caught on and called Kaycee on it.

"Sweetie, stop bouncing your leg. There's nothing to be nervous about." Alan watched as Kaycee's face turned bright red and she ceased her leg movement. The rest of the ride was painfully silent as they reached the restaurant.

As they entered the restaurant and take their seats, Richard sparks up a conversation.

"So, how did you two meet?" Alan looked over at Kaycee and she decided she would answer.

"Well, Julia was the coordinator for that big corporate event a few years back and Alan and I just kind of bumped into each other." Richard quirked an eyebrow.

"Bumped into each other, huh?" Alan nodded.

"Yes, sir." Richard gave a hesitant nod and Linda decided to push for more information.

"So, now you're engaged. Even after everything that happened?" Alan swallowed hard and Kaycee shifted uncomfortably in her seat.

"Yes, mother." Kaycee's tone had changed. Linda noted this.

"I'm not trying to make you upset, dear. But - Alan I'm sure you understand - being unfaithful is a rare thing to come back from." Alan straightened up, placing a hand gently on Kaycee's thigh.

"I took responsibility for my actions and I paid my dues. Kaycee and I are working on building a life together and moving forward, rather than focusing on the past." Linda scoffed.

"And how do you expect to build a life together with little to no trust." Kaycee huffed.

"That's none of your damn business!" Richard cleared his throat.

"Kaycee, that is not how you speak to your mother!" Kaycee stood.

"I did not come here to do this. I love him and what we went through has nothing to do with you. I'm happy with him and we'll have our own family and we will move forward." Alan gave her a quizzical look and Richard spoke up.

"Your own family?" Linda stood up slowly.

"Tell me that you are not having a baby out of wedlock, young lady." Alan stood quickly watching as Kaycee's eyes filled with tears.

"And if I am?" Linda scoffed.

"No daughter of mine would do that. Your sisters knew better." Kaycee sighed.

"Well then, I guess I'm not your daughter."

Before another word was spoken Kaycee left. Alan gave a short glance and followed behind her. Kaycee saw Taylor and felt an instant sense of relief. Taylor opened the door and she entered the car.

"Taylor, take me home." Taylor nodded and followed orders.

When she returned to the house, Taylor left to retrieve the rest of the party. She changed into a large shirt and underwear. She wandered aimlessly around the house, eating handfuls of almonds. She heard the door open and then slam shut. Alan climbed the stairs and gave a heavy sigh as he watched Kaycee.

"Kayce..." She heard him but she didn't acknowledge him. He caught her arm and gently pulled her towards him. "Love..." She looked up at him, her face puffy from crying. "Are you pregnant?" She took and deep breath and as she exhaled she began to cry again. He smiled and pulled her into him. "Why are you crying?"

"Because I'm pregnant and I don't want you to leave and my parents hate me and I'm not even married and--" Alan grabbed her face gently.

"Hey, hey, hey. First of all, I'm never going anywhere. That's my baby in there and you are the love of my life. You'll have to kill me to get rid of me." Kaycee bit her lip, smiling. "Secondly, your parents do not hate you. Your father couldn't be happier about the wedding and your pregnancy. He and I dropped your mother off back at the hotel and then he and I had a long chat." Kaycee frowned.

"What about my mom?" Alan sighed.

"She'll need some time...so they've decided to head back home." Kaycee sunk down to the floor. "Your father said he'd be back for the wedding." Kaycee scoffed.

"What wedding?! My mom was supposed to help coordinate the damn thing." Alan helped her to stand and sat her on the counter.

"I called in back up so you have nothing to worry about." Kaycee sighed. "Now, we have something much more pertinent to discuss, my dear." Kaycee giggled.

"And what might that be?" Alan chuckled and grabbed Kaycee's face.

"We're having a baby." Kaycee giggled.

"We're having a baby!" Alan pulled her into his arms and spun her around, planting kisses all over her face and neck. They fell onto a couch, with Kaycee landing firmly underneath him. He caressed her face and smiled down at her. She giggled and pulled his face to hers, kissing him.

"How far along are you?" Kaycee smiled.

"Three weeks or so? ...so it's still early and we shouldn't be getting too excited because i dont want to jinx it." Alan chuckled and kissed her on the forehead before sitting himself up and pulling her to his chest.

"We'll go to the OB tomorrow and get everything squared away." Kaycee nodded and nuzzled into Alan's chest.

"I love you." He smirked and kissed the top of her head.

"And I love you."
