Jessie has been in hospital for about a week now. Not being able to see him as been horrible. I've wanted to go and visit him everyday but the nurses wouldn't let me near him. Being away from him for so long has made me realize just how much I need him in my life.

Since that night I've been kept up with images, memories of what happened. The tension, the fear and the rage in the atmosphere. I can't help but to think about what the police have asked me to do: Give a statement in court against Mr Oliver and to state the events that happened on that night. About what I remember. Because I am a witness.

But now, in the car to the airport, I can finally breathe again.

Jessie messaged me last night about how this morning he is to leave the hospital. Lola wants to go airplane spotting so with the great amount of excitement building in my body, I managed to get a taxi so I can come too.

In the back of the car, I begin to fiddle with my loose braid that falls over my shoulder and tap my feet on the floor of the car. Mu anxiety has been flaring up again since Jessie's absence but I'm hoping today will help calm everything back down.

As soon as the taxi pulls up to the airport I jump out immediately and slide the money through the window before looking at my surroundings as I search for them.

Walking up to the front of the airport I notice a tall, curly haired guy looking down at his phone out of boredom or nervousness, it is hard to tell. But straight away I know its him.

I can't hold myself back as I sprint towards him before lunging into his arms.

"JESSIE!" I shout as I push back a tear of pure happiness. He laughs in response as I stand back up straight.

The first thing I notice is the stitching above his eyebrow and the bruise on his lip. I try not to stare or to make him feel self conscious. If anything I'm glad these are what's left of his injuries. It could have ended up a lot worse.

Jessie takes hold of my hand. Intertwining our fingers, he leads me in through the doors.

"Where is Lola?" I ask, following him.

"She's with my aunt Julie." I give him a confused look as he mentions a family member he's never spoken of before. "She moved to Brisbane when I was young so I don't see her often hense why I never told you about her." He adds before sitting us down. "Maddie, I have something to tell you." He takes in a deep breath as he looks away.

"What is it?" I ask, that same terrible anxious feeling I get comes rushing back at his words.

"Lola and I aren't staying here; in this town."

"What do, what do you mean?" I stutter, looking into his eyes to see if I can get any information out of them.

"The reason my auntie is here is to take Lola and I back to Brisbane to live with her and my uncle." My heart stops and the whole world goes into slow motion.

"No, no you're lying. You wouldn't move half way across the world." My words now only whispers as my eyes go glossy.

"Lola needs a responsible adult looking after her and now our dads going to prison, Aunt Julie is the only other adult left in our family. I can't leave Lola on her own, she's my little sister." He puts his hand up to my cheek and brushes away a fallen tear with his thumb. "Please don't cry Mads."

"You can't, can't leave me." I cry, my words broken up. "You're my best friend. What will I do without you?" We both stand up as Jessie snakes his arms around my waist, embracing me with a hug as I cry into his chest. "I love you, Jessie." I finally admit before kicking myself about it. I have fallen in love with a guy who, in a couple of hours, will be half way across the world.

"I love you too, Maddie." He mumbles into my hair, his voice now also broken up with tears.

"Jessie, are you ready?" Another, mature voice interrupts and we break away. The lady, who looks to be his aunt Julie puts her hand on his arm. "It's time to go."

I look towards Lola as she walks over to me. I kneel down to embrace her before saying, "You'll look after him now won't you?" Her bright smile is the only thing to lighten the mood as I look back up at Jessie.

"Message me everyday."

"I'll see you soon, Maddie." He utters before wiping away another tear and taking hold of Lola's hand. "I'm so proud of you."

They begin to walk off as I whisper, more to myself then to him.

"Please don't go. Please Stay."
