So final chapter of this book! I'm so excited! Ok so where were we?
Hehe! I'm guilty of the above picture all the time!
Summary: The feuding families work together. The Empress arrives and makes a convincing argument. Rose and Merlin get their happy ending at last.

Karayan had raised his blade to finish the job when another blade stabbed through his chest. He fell down to reveal Regina standing behind him, holding onto the sword that had been Karayan's demise.
For a second, she just stood there, panting. Then she finally said, "I always hated him." Then she looked at Karayan and said, "That's for my daughter-in-law!" Karayan slumped over, no longer alive.
Everyone was silent as Merlin suddenly placed a hand on Rose's wound. His eyes glowed gold and a golden light glowed over her wound. When it disappeared, so did her wound.
Her breathing became steady again and she sat up, drying Merlin's tears. He smiled at her before pulling her into his arms so he could kiss her. Nicholas and Regina stood, frozen, with their eyes on one another, unsure what to do.
Suddenly, a voice boomed, "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!!" Everyone turned to find the Empress rushing forward, with Lady Angel in tow. "Angel has been driving me crazy for the past two days! First she tells me that Rose and Merlin got married then she sends for me, all frantic, because she has a foreboding. Then I find out that two men died the same day, both noblemen and I WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!!"
Neither Nicholas nor Regina moved to speak. Finally, Merlin got to his feet, taking Rose with him. He advanced on the Empress until he was right before her. Then he said, "Milady, I fear all of this has been a misunderstanding that is partially my fault."
"Explain!" The Empress boomed, though not unkindly.
"Nearly a year ago, when you made your proclamation, I snuck into the palace of Paradise and met Rose. I fell in love with her and, as time passed, she with me. Two days ago, I married her and planned for us to elope so we could be together.
"Last night, I had a vision. Karayan and Adrian convinced both sides to keep fighting; that is why the feud between our families has been more violent in this last generation. They wanted both our families to destroy each other so that they could rule over both kingdoms.
"But Karayan wanted to marry Rose so he tricked me into killing his brother. Then Karayan convinced Rose's father that I had violated her. He planned on getting me killed so he could have Rose to himself. He planned to murder my mother, brother, and Rose's father so that he could become king over both with Rose as his queen.
"He convinced Nicholas to go to war against my family to achieve just that. It was very lucky that Rose and I got here when we did."
"That's quite a story." The Empress pondered. "I'd say we need to make some changes around here." At this, she turned to the rest of the group. "Why continue this feud? Does anyone remember why it started?" Everyone looked at one another, shrugging. "No one here knows why this feud began. There is no point in continuing this foolishness! Do you really want to lose your children forever?!"
Nicholas and Regina looked at one another. For a moment, their faces mirrored each other, a mix of emotions on their faces.
Finally, Nicholas spoke, "I must thank your son for saving my daughter's life and you for saving us all from Karayan. And you claimed my daughter as your own. Why?"
"There is no use denying what is true. She saved my son's life. That itself proves she loves him and it is obvious he feels the same way. And I tire of fighting."
"You are right." They shared another look then Nicholas held out his hand, saying, "This feud..."
"....is over." Regina finished, accepting his hand.
As one, they turned to their children. "We accept your marriage. Welcome to the family."
With that, Regina hugged Rose and Nicholas clasped hands with Merlin. Then they hugged their own children. At this, Lady Angel called out, "Praise the Lord! My prayers are answered!"
Everyone laughed with joy. Then the Empress announced, "And so it shall be known that from this day forth, the feud between the Swan's and Emrys' is no more. Congratulations."
                            * * * * *
It was as the two kingdoms agreed. Merlin and Rose were married a second time, this time in front of all their family and friends. The feud was over, forever.
As the years passed, the two families grew closer, becoming friends and, in some cases, lovers.
Mordred later found love with one of Rose's friends.
Merlin's friend, Gwaine, became enamored with another of Rose's friends.
Regina and Nicholas became close and often helped each other for years after they renounced their claim on each of their respective thrones. With each other's support, they made it through the tough times.
The Empress continued to rule over all the kingdoms and Lady Angel kept performing marriages of which there were many after the feud ended.
As for Rose and Merlin, they united the kingdoms and ruled over both when their parents stepped down. With their love for each other, Paradise and Powys never fought again.
Peace had come to Auradon once more.
The End.
