Chapter 12 - Her Story

Jack's POV ~

I woke inside a room, laying on a soft bed.

Where am I?

I sat up quickly, which was a mistake.
I groaned.
My abs still burned with ice but my heart... it was warm. It usually isn't this warm...

I looked around at my strange surrounding.

The walls were covered in light blue wallpaper. Tapestries in different hues of blue were dotted along. A door on the right must've lead to the hallway as on the left was a big window with a view of the lake I saw queen Elsa.

Queen Elsa.

I froze.

I left her! Alone! Vulnerable to Pitch! How could I be so stupid and careless!

I palmed my face.

"Now she thinks i'm weak."

I couldn't protect even her. What has happened to me?

Where is she is the real question.

I threw the thick blanket over and jumped out, another mistake.
I groaned and limped over to the door, pulling open to a wide, empty hallway.
I looked outside the window and saw...

Nothing. No signs of blood, no sign of black sand, no signs of people.
I turned away from the sill and looked down both ways of the hall.

Where could they be?

Slowly, I heard soft voices coming from my right to which I followed to.
I limped closer to the voices that lead to a closed door.
I pressed my ear against the door, listening. Just barely...

"Alright."
I heard a girl say.

I silently turned the knob and pushed the door, slowly and quietly.
Going to make my grand entrance.

"But I shall join in your protection. I am not entirely helpless and wish to help. After all, you did save me."

"Great! I'll train you first thing in the morning!"
I exclaimed loud enough to break the seriousness.

The queen, at the head of the table, was shocked. Her lips in a surprising 'o'.
Even just sitting there, she was... gorgeous. I couldn't take my eyes off her enchanting blue orbs.

Jack...stop...you're staring.

Before I looked away, I thought I saw from the corner of my eye, a tint of pink form at the blossoms of her cheeks.

"Jack! Great! You're okay! Guess who saved us? The queen! Can you believe it! She..."
Tooth trailed off before realizing she was going to reveal the truth.

"Yeah how exactly did the queen save you all?"
I say before flying NEXT to a seat, and squatting atop my staff.

The queen sighed and looked at me.

"Like you...I have the ability to summon ice and snow."
She says, demonstrating the words from the palm of her hands.

A spark of magic-like ice bounced into the air.
