I closed my school computer and groaned as I laid down on my back.
So much for a break.
"Weston?" I started as he answered the FaceTime to a black screen
"Sorry, did I wake you up?" I asked him
I looked over at the clock and it was eight in the morning on New Year's Eve. We were supposed to be going to Mae's place for a party later.
"Yeah, but it's fine. What's wrong?" He asked me all groggily
"So you know how seniors have to teach any grade level an interactive lesson? Yeah, well I was a dumb ass who signed up for the day we go back from break. I have to teach freshmen an interactive lesson about human body and genetics. Anyways, I've been up since seven thinking about it. I was thinking I could put them into groups and assign each group a different project like parts of the heart, respiratory system, circulatory system, you get it. But first, it's mandatory that I provide a visual example that fourteen and fifteen-year-olds can get." I explained
"What did you come up with?" Weston questioned me
I opened up my notebook, "Use the musculatory system as an example, take pictures of Weston's muscles as a visual example. The abs would be the grand finale."
I could hear Weston let out a small laugh.
"Okay, I'll go do a few situps and stuff right now to make sure they look nice. So what about the genetic part, four eyes?" Weston agreed
I smiled, "You haven't called my four eyes in such a long time, who knew I would miss that? But the genetic part would be individual so they would pick a celebrity or someone in their class if they have a boyfriend or girlfriend and determine their child's features with that particular person and themselves. I think I'm just going to require them to do one or two punnet squares then let them use this website."
"When's your follow up?" Weston asked me
I opened up the email, "Two weeks away from that Monday."
"Come over now, I miss you," Weston whined as he finally got out of bed
I walked into my bathroom and propped my phone against the counter.
"I'm gonna get breakfast from Chick Fil A for the both of us then I'll be on my way officially," I told him as I put my hair into a neater ponytail.
"Sounds good. Oh! What are you wearing tonight?" Weston asked me
I put on my Fenty slides, "I don't know it's just me, you, Mae, Luke, and a few other people. So nothing too fancy."
I grabbed my computer and walked out of my room.
"I'll see you a bit, I'm about to start driving," I told him as I made my way out of my house
Weston nodded, "Bye lovie."
"Bye Wes." I beamed
I got into my car and drove to Chick fill A and got us breakfast. I also got Weston a frosted coffee, because I knew how much he loved those.
"Lennox!" Brynn said running up to me
She wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Hey, Brynny Boo. How are you?" I asked her
She smiled at me go, "Mom and I are going to get Lilly a New Year outfit and food. Are you and Weston boyfriend and girlfriend again?"
Brynn was always curious.
"Yes, we are. Why?" I grinned
"Because I like when you're around him. He's in a better mood." Brynn started as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs
