Rose
I wake up when I hear the howl. I run over to the door, barely spotting the back of the wolf- of grandpa. I don't understand. I watch with my green eyes, watch until I can no longer see his fur or the ruffle of the brush. I don't give chase, knowing that I can't catch up to him. I sigh, and with both my hands I lift my red hood off my head. You can see them there, nestled in the strands of my hair.
