"Come on, y/n! You DID promise me!"
Sana was pulling me with her towards the door of the hotel suite, demanding that I show her around New York.
I completely, in all senses of the word, regret promising that I'd do so. With how clumsy she is, I'd probably have to carry her around the entire place. Places where even a penguin wouldn't trip, Sana would trip. It's like she puts soap on the soles of her footwear.
But a promise is a promise, and a man keeps his promise. Even when he's three years younger than the person he made the promise to.
"Fine, yes! Stop scratching me already!" I scowled.
"Yay! I was so worried I'd randomly wander the streets by myself, ya know?" she giggled.
"Right," I sighed. "So where do you want to go? There's loads of places that we could go to."
"I don't know, you tell me. Anything "New York", I've only seen in movies and stuff," she shrugged.
"Typical," I chuckled. Pretty much everything people who haven't been to New York only know stuff about it from superhero movies. "I have some places in mind. So if you could just not trip over every curb like when we were getting off the plane..."
"One more word and I'll tickle torture you again," she stared daggers.
"Ajujuju, you don't scare me, no matter how much of a senior you are."
She simply pouted and growled in response. What a weirdo. I can't even imagine what it would be like being her sibling. Incredibly annoying.
But it would also be incredibly fun, surprising as that sounds.
I brought her to a local dirty water hotdog vendor, as it's probably the first thing that pops into her mind when you say "New York" other than Central Park and the Empire State building.
"Ooooh," she smiled. "Will you buy one for me?"
"Hell no," I replied. "You have money. It's literally a dollar."
"Whatever," she laughed, which I found weird. People would usually be offended, not amused.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Oh, nothing," she answered, smiling. "This is just a lot of fun."
I decided to ignore her weird behavior and buy my own hotdog while Sana bought hers.
"So, how do you like it?" I asked, munching on my hotdog sandwich.
"It's very good. I don't know why it's called 'dirty water hotdog' though."
"See," I began. "It's because the hotdogs are boiled in water that isn't changed out for new water for days or even weeks on end. Believe it or not, this is actually what makes it taste so good and unique."
"Yeah," she nodded. "These are totally different from the ones back home."
"Home?" I tilted my head. "Japan or Korea?"
"I don't know," she chuckled. "Both I guess." I laughed along with her.
Being with Sana was so...
Casual.
Like it was the most natural thing in the world. There wasn't any awkwardness, no... uncertainty. It was a mystery to me.
The feeling had never occurred to me. It was the first time I had felt something as strange as this. It had a name, I'm sure, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.
I decided to stop thinking about it, concluding that I would get my answer the longer I stayed with Sana.
"So where are we going next?" she asked me, done with her hotdog sandwich, wiping her mouth with the paper napkins that the vendor kindly provided.
