I woke up to my phone buzzing.
Strange
I was sure it couldn't be 6am yet, I picked up my phone and squinted my eyes as the light blinded me.
It was 3.45am and I had a message from Alexa.
I sighed loudly and put my phone on silent before putting it back on my bedside table.
I closed my eyes and just started drifting off when I heard a loud bang downstairs.
I sat up suddenly and my heart started to bear faster as the bangs continued.
My mum came into my room, "Are you okay Rachel?"
I nodded "What's that noise?"
"It's not you?" She turned pale.
I shook my head and got up slowly.
"Rachel, stay here I'm going downstairs."
"No mum, I'm coming with you."
She started walking down the stairs and peeped over the banister.
"It's coming from the kitchen." She whispered.
She crept down and I followed her, making sure not to make a sound.
I looked into the kitchen, and what I saw next shocked me...
