Nothing gave Gracie greater joy than doing things that would make her parents furious. In her opinion, they didn't get angry often enough. People were meant to have emotions and wild feelings.

But then again, when you raise your children to be perfect, there really shouldn't be any reason to be angry.

Which made sense, in a twisted I-want-my-children-to-have-a-complex sort of way.

But Gracie was over trying to be perfect, and her parents had been slowly catching on. College was set to start soon, and Gracie and Theo would be leaving together, Gracie going to Yale, and Theo transferring to a college near her, further irritating her parents.

Their ideal match for their daughters was an Ivy League graduate who wore suits and ties every day, not the boy-next-door that worked graveyard shifts at a gas station that paid him eight seventy-five an hour.
