Certain things have been destroyed
I followed the example you made of my heart
I can't listen to those songs
I can't sing those lyrics
I can't feel the weight of someone's arms wrapped around me
Because I can't stop thinking of you.
I started something new
I found something else
I have new songs that make my heart beat like the cadence to a marching band
I have new lyrics I sing to make me feel like I am on top of the world
I will one day feel the embrace of someone who cares about me the way you never can
One day I will love someone else and you will no longer be the one on my mind.
