Chapter 3: Nope, not happening

Y/N's POV

"So basically, you might have a way into the city?" I questioned Gally.

"Yea, Laurance is only letting me bring two people though"

"I'll go," Thomas said, raising his hand.

"Me too," Newt replies.

"OK, it's settled, Newt and Thomas will be coming with me."

-Before they leave-

"Please be careful, Newt," I say, kissing his cheek.

"I will, I'm always careful."

Thomas, Newt, and Gally went into the tunnel.

-The boys finally come back-

"So? What's our way in?" Brenda asked.

Gally spoke up," Teresa, we need to get Teresa."

Teresa? As in my sister Teresa? I thought I'd never have to see her again, but I guess if she's our only way in, then we'll use her to get in.

Thomas looked uneasy," Nope, not happening. There has to be another way."

Newt got up and shoved Thomas to a wall," Why? Because deep down you still care about her?!"

Thomas stood there silent

"Don't lie to me!"

I pulled him off of Thomas," Newt, don't do this please."

He looked at me in the eye then stormed out of the room.

I was going to follow him, but Thomas told me he'd take care of it. I wanted to make sure he was ok, so I followed Thomas and Newt silently.

Newt was sitting on the roof looking up to the sky," I'm sorry, I guess I don't have a reason to not show you this."

He lifted up his sleeve, revealing his veins. Newt was infected with the Flare.

"I guess they put me in the Maze so they can tell the difference between immunes like you and normal like me."

Thomas finally spoke up," Does Y/N know?"

"No, I don't want to worry her, especially since she's pregnant."

"Oh."

"Please, don't tell Y/N."

I came out pretending to be clueless," Tell me what?"

He pulled his sleeve down," Nothing."

Thomas got up," I'll leave you two alone."

"Why are you keeping secrets from me, Newt?"

"I-I'm not."

"Listen, I heard and saw everything. I know you're infected."

"I'm sorry Y/N." he cried out, pulling me into a hug.

I hugged him back," It's ok, Newt, you didn't say anything because you didn't want to see me hurt. I understand."

I got up and extended my hand to him," Let's go."

We went back together, I went to talk with Brenda, while he spoke to Thomas, Frypan, and Gally.

"Brenda, can we talk somewhere else?" I asked her.

She took me to a separate room," What's to talk about?"

"Newt's infected, and I'm pregnant."

"Oh," was all she could say.

"Anyways," I changed the subject." What's the plan?"

"Thomas and you are going to get Teresa. Then, the boys will invade the building, you and I are goi-"

"Can I invade the building with them? I want to be with Newt because um, y'know."

"We can change that, let me just ask Jorge."

"Ok, thank you so much."
