Chapter Nine - The Raid

          

-Katerina-

I was on a eagle and watched as King Edmund flew in first  Peter, Susan and Caspian were also in eagles grasps. Once he flashed his light the four of us were swooped in. I passed The young King who kept giving the signal that we were going in. We headed for a bridge when i saw a Telmarine point a cross bow in King Edmund's direction. Susan shot him and landed down while Peter took out another guard. Caspian began on the rope and when it was secure enough he lowered himself down. followed by me, Peter and Susan

"Professor" he gently taped on the window but opened it with his dagger. When I entered the room  it had looked like it had been ransacked.

"We have to find him" Caspian stated

"You don't have time. You need to get the gate open."

"You wouldn't be here without him and neither would we" I told Peter who looked at Susan

"You and I can deal with Miraz" Susan told him. We both left

"Knowing our Uncle he has proberly thrown him in the cells" we agreed to head for the cells. I saw two guard and ran in front I grabbed one head and twist it before grabbing another and doing the same. I grabbed the keys and threw them to Caspian. He opened the door and we entered. Once we found the professor Caspian opened the door. We knelt down and shook him he woke up.

"5 more minutes?" I joked as Caspian began to unlock the chains.

"What are you doing here" he asked

"Being your knights in shining armour" I replied sarcastically.

"I didn't help you escape just so you could be back in" We helped him up "You have to get out before Miraz learns you're here" he pleaded

"He will known soon enough. We are giving him your cell" Caspian told the Professor handing him a key. We went out leave but he pulled us back.

"Don't under estimate Miraz as your father did"

"What are you talking about" but I had a overwhelming feeling of what he was saying.

"He killed our father" I took a large breath

"I'm sorry" I shook my head and ran off. I headed straight for my Uncles room looking behind me Caspian was thinking the same. When we entered we took out our swords and held them too his neck. He woke up and laughed

"I'm so glad you're both safe"

"Get up" Caspian ordered he took away the covers and woke up our Aunt.

"Caspian, Katerina."

"Stay where you are you have nothing to do with this" I told her

"What are you doing?" she asked us

"What does it look like dear. You know some families might consider this inappropriate behaviour."

"It doesn't seem to matter to you."

"But you're not like me are you. Katerina proberly she has the strong blood of a Telmarine but you. It's sad the first time you've shown any back bone and it's such a waste"  there was a click

"Put the swords down Caspian. Katerina. I don't want to do this"

"We don't want you to either" Susan and Peter entered

"You would do the same if you knew what we did. Gone on Uncle tell my dear Aunt why we have no qualms on killing you."

"What are you doing you're supposed to be in the gatehouse

"We want answers now" Caspian shouted

"Brother we already have them I just want him to admit what he did"

"Ah now we get to it" he smirked and I dug my sword in.

"Your right you know i have the blood of a Telmarine and if you don't care about us why should we you. Now admit what you did" I yelled "Tell us what you did to our father"

"You said your brother died in his sleep." Our Aunt stated.

" That was more or less true"

"Caspian, Katerina this won't make things any better"

"How would you know you haven't lost your father" I screamed. Turning back to Miraz

"Admit it I want you to say what you did."

"Katerina" My aunt called

"No! you know what he's done yet you still stick up for him. He's killed our father he's trying to kill us your own niece and nephew. All to get your son on the throne."

"Why would he do that?"

"the same reason you hold that cross bow for our son. It's time to make a choice, do you want him to be King or do you want him to be like Caspian and Katerina...fatherless" she screamed and shot a arrow at my brother i moved quickly to help him.

"I'm alright" I nodded and went over to my aunt and pulled her up.

"You married a murderer. Your son's father is nothing but a shame. You will have to live with the fact that you wavered and nearly help kill us. That you love a man who is a tyrant and would have seen us dead." I told her

"Katerina" I felt myself being pulled away

"No its her fault if she had a girl we wouldn't be in this mess" he held on to me.

"Let's leave" he took my hand and we ran. He never let go and I was barely functioning. It was only when I heard the bells I woke up out of my daydream.

"No" I whispered

"Peter?"

"Our troops are just outside come on" I was dragged along.

"No Peter you can't do this" I yelled and tried to break free

"Now Ed now. signal the troops " I was finally let go.

"I'm a bit busy Pete" Edmund replied  we killed the troops and Peter ran to the wheel of the gate

"Peter there is no point. If you bring them in now this will be a slaughter."

"No I can still do this" he said "help me " Susan and Caspian joined us.

"No. I'm not helping you lead the very people were supposed to protect" I refused. Caspian and Susan however did.

"Oh dear this is not good." they had quickened their time as the first line of soldiers arrived. I took my sword

"For Narnia" Peter shouted I ran into action. I knew this wasn't a good  it was a bad idea from the start.  I used their tricks against them and killed many.

"Katerina come with me" Caspian pulled me away and we entered the stables

"Get Destrier and Snow. I need to get something of mine" he nodded and I ran into the armoury which was empty. Running to the far wall i took the painting of my father down and unlocked the hidden door. Father had given these to me but didn't want my mother to know. They were sais  collecting them. Putting the painting back i ran into the stables. Caspian had both our horses as well as another one.

Professor Cornelius was already on a horse so I swung myself on and we rode out. We paused and looked up at Our Uncle and General.

"I trusted you Glozelle! You traitor!" i yelled then scanned to find Peter

"Peter get on the horse" we started riding. he grabbed on the saddled and kicked a solider before swinging himself on i let go of his reins and ran forward i stopped and looked back the gate was down.

"Suncloud!" i yelled he was a good friends of mine

"go your highness, Run" he shouted he then looked past us and nodded slowly.

"Suncloud no!" i screamed

"Peter, Katerina the bridge" i looked at Peter and glared before taking off. Jumping the gap i didn't look back.
