Chapter 7

The next few days were the same- me going to school, meeting Diana and Stella then heading to the class. I had few more encounters with Ashley because apparently, I made a mistake by 'messing with her'. Pfft please. She would try to trip me in the hallway or call me names thinking that I will crack and start crying like others but man, is she wrong. I do the opposite, whenever she tries anything; I make her plans backfire, her expression is priceless every single time. According to Stella, our source of information, everyone else in the school is also not affected by her now that they know someone can stand up to her. In my music class, Ms Wood told me that I will have to take part in that music competition and I couldn't say anything because one, she used the 'best for our school' card and it is one of my many weakness, even though she don't know what this school means to me and two, because of my promise to my brothers. After going home, I would usually rest for a while then do my homework and play with Ginger for a while till my brothers come and go to sleep after dinner, simple as that.

Today was no different, or so I thought. When I woke up in the morning for school, I had a weird feeling for today like something's going to happen. I jumped out of the bed and went to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth and showering, I choose to wear a mid-thigh denim shorts, long black tank top with black combat boots. I looked kinda like a badass but never mind. I grabbed my bag and exited my room. I walked in Nathan's room to wake him up. My brothers can't wake up on their own on time so it's my job to wake them up before going to school. Usually only Aaron wakes up on his own IF he has any work otherwise nope, he is not waking up. After waking up Nathan and Aaron, I went to Erik's room to wake him up but to my surprise, he was already up and dressed up, fixing his messed-up hair.

"Good morning bro" I greeted, walking up to him and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Good morning baby girl"

"Need some help?" I asked gesturing to his hairs. He nodded sheepishly and sat on the chair in front of the mirror. I moved my fingers through his hairs and made a hairstyle which was messy but still classy, and it suited him well.

"How you do this is beyond me" he said, clearly amazed, looking in the mirror. I shrugged. He kissed my cheek and said, "Thanks baby girl". I smiled and walked out of his room, and went to the kitchen for breakfast. As our kitchen is huge, and there's a kitchen island in between the room with tall stools; we eat our breakfast here only because it's usually just us. I ate my breakfast which is toast and coffee; I don't feel like eating much today which is odd but I can't survive the day without my coffee so it's very important. Just as I'm about to finish my brothers entered the kitchen, Aaron and Nathan looked like they just want to go back to bed but Erik looked fully awake, which is odd so I asked, "Hey Erik, how come you were up early?"

"I have a pretty hectic day today. Back to back meeting and I had to be prepared for them so I woke up early for it. And yeah, I might be late today so you guys don't wait up." He replied, taking his coffee. I nodded and said bye to my brothers, before walking out the kitchen and the front door. I headed towards the school. Thinking how my day will go because of my odd feeling about today.
