-Brooklyn-
"So everything just back to normal? Did you at least fight him? I know you fought him." Harmony whispered, trying not to disrupt the lecture from our literature professor.
"Of course I did, but we're good now." I whispered back as I took a few notes for the both of us. I pushed my phone closer to the edge of the table so that my voice recorder would record the lecture instead of us talking.
"He told you where he was staying?" I shook my head and looked at my watch to check the time and how much longer we had left to suffer.
"Supposedly he was at the Dog pound but Aundrus told me before hand that he hadn't been there at all. Somebody lying." I shrugged.
"Ooooh he such a fucking liar!" Harmony whispered aggressively, banging her fist on the table. Once she realized that she was a little too loud, she quickly stopped and placed her hand back in her lap.
"Well Booby don't usually-"
"Not Booby, Aundrus. He told me the other day that he was about to pick Booby up from some apartments down by University mall." She admitted, giving proof that they were both lying.
"And Willow don't stay over there, so she's out of the question." I sighed.
"He got any family out here?" Harmony asked, leaning back in her chair.
"All his family in Houston...I don't know who he could've been staying with but I'll get to the bottom of it when I get home, trust." I began to pack up my things as our professor concluded his lecture. After class I planned on meeting with Melanie so we could talk. We've never let he say she say bullshit ruin our friendship but I understand from her perspective hearing that one of your closest friends is helping spread a risque video of you around campus is pretty damn infuriating. On the other hand, she should know me better and know that I would never do something like that to her.
After unlocking my truck and packing my things in the backseat, I began my route to my next destination. Mel and I planned on meeting at the campus Wellness center right after our last class to avoid the usual Wednesday crowd. Fortunately, we didn't have a game today so after our little meeting I could go home and have another meeting with that boyfriend of mine. So far we've been communicating cordially with one another, but I can't help but wonder how long it'll actually last.
I arrived at the wellness center a few minutes earlier than we had planned. The massive amount of things going through my head we're seemingly causing me to grow tired. I got out of the car and entered the building with the presentation of my school ID and sat my purse and phone down on an empty table. As I suspected, no one except the employees of the wellness center were here. The only sound of life was the squeak of my Nike slides as I trudged across the wet, freshly mopped floor to get some coffee.
I poured myself half a cup of coffee with three scoops of sugar and six French vanilla creamers. As I took a sip to make sure it was exactly how I like it, my ears caught the sound of footsteps from further behind me.
"Brooklyn?" I turned around ready to see Melanie in all of her happy, extra glory but instead she seemed more agitated than usual. Not only did her aura seem off but her wardrobe was a little more...classier than the usual tights and crop tops that I'm used to seeing her wear.
