I woke up in a hospital bed. Why am I in a hospital bed? I started to panic and a beautiful red head rushed to me.

"Lydia it's okay calm down." She grabbed my shoulders and tried to keep me on the bed.

"Cherry?" My eyes were blurry but I was sure the beautiful face belong to my closest girlfriend.

"Yeah Lydia it's me." I grabbed her pulling her close to me. Hugging her as close as I could. Somehow she understood. She understood not explain why I was there. She understood not to tell me everything was going to be fine. She understood not to say a word. She knew to just hug me close and cry with me. Finally when I was calmed down, she explained that when I passed out I hit my head and the doctors wanted to check me for a concussion. She said the doctor needs to check my vitals and I could leave.

"Well tell the doctor to get in here so I can leave." I commanded slightly rude. I felt bad but I needed to see Dallas now.

"Okay, I'm glad you and Dally are okay." She told me smiling softly.

I returned the soft smile and she left. Cherry and I had always been close but things like Bob got in the way. We hadn't talked to each other in a while but in times like this, you see who your real friends are. And Cherry Valance is one of them.

The doctor returned shortly after she left. He informed me that I had a small bump on my head and I'd probably have a headache when the medicine wore off, but other than that I was cleared to leave. I changed quickly and went straight to the lobby.

"Can I see him?" I asked Darry and the boys. They all nodded and hugged me and showed me to his room. I was nervous to see Dally. He was going to propose to me. I was scared that he was still going to ask, and even more scared that he wasn't.

I walked in and saw him laying there asleep. He looked so peaceful and angelic I didn't want to wake him. So I sat in the chair next to him and held his hand. I wanted to marry him. I wanted to be his wife. I wanted to live the rest of my life with him. He was the love of my life.

"Hey beautiful." His voice was rough and somehow the most amazing thing I'd ever heard. I smiled through tears.

"Hey." I laughed awkwardly and he put his hand on my face. Whipping the warm tears with his thumb.

"Dally I love you please don't ever leave me." I started crying harder and laid down next to him. He didn't say anything for a while. Just hugged me close. It's funny how everyone has a place where they belong. How the great athletes belong on the court. Or how the Beatles belong on the stage. How Marilyn Monroe belongs in front of a camera. Everyone has a place where they belong. And I belonged in Dallas Winston's arms.

"Marry me." He said suddenly. I looked him in the eyes. A part of me still believed it couldn't be true. Dallas Winston. The reckless criminal of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The mean cold hearted boy who could never love anyone.

"Say it again." I said still keeping the shocked look on my face. He grinned at me.

"I said marry me Lydia Mae Carter." He repeated. "Marry me."

I could feel the tears fall once again. These tears were different. They weren't tainted with fear and sorrow. They were warm with joy. Dallas asked me to marry him.

"Okay." I whispered and kissed my fiancé.
