"That will be Captain, King Caspian the 10th to you lovey" Yelled the bald and arrogant man. Almost everyone was oblivious to who Susan was; but they weren't oblivious to the eye contact between the two. Lord Drinian coughed loudly, before kneeling in front of Susan. One by one, the crew followed, without knowing why; all except John, the man who had found Susan lurking.
"That's no way to treat Queen Susan the gentle." Drinian exclaimed. John gulped and obediently kneeled. "Sorry, ma'am."
The tension rose. "How is this possible?" Caspian questioned.
"I'm not sure, one minute I was in my world, and I received a letter. An invitation to a wedding. Your wedding." She paused, each word broke her heart a little bit more. "I'm guessing when you said every Narnian, it also meant Queens of Old." There was a pause of silence between everyone. The ominous sun danced on the horizon. The sky was a dark blue and the sea was an inviting shade of teal. A flock of birds flew over the ship. It was quite mesmerising. Susan had forgotten how beautiful Narnia was and how peaceful the world is without war. Caspian had been admiring her beauty whilst she was appreciating her surroundings. Her blue eyes twinkled under the setting sun. The wind whistled through her long brown locks. She inhaled the salty, clear air and sighed before looking directly into the deep brown eyes she had longed to see. There he was, in front of her, after months apart. Susan wanted to run up to him and kiss him but she knew she shouldn't. He looked older, but still young. He had clearly matured which Susan found very attractive.
All of a sudden, Susan broke the silence and the eye contact, "Is this the ship Lucy was talking about?" He nodded his head - he was still in disbelief she was here. "It's rather large, quite cute. I still don't understand how I got here. But I'm here now. I'm not sure if I'm dreaming, but a dream has never felt so real. I would ask you to pinch me but I would rather not wake up and have to face the nightmare." Susan folded her hands onto her hips.
"Are you alone? Did they others come?" Caspian asked but she shrugged.
"I think Edmund and Lucy are still with Eustace in London, I was in America with my mother and well Peter, He's fighting in a world war." She laughed to her self. "He never stopped acting like a king, he wouldn't be Peet if he did." A raindrop escaped Susan's eye. There was a pause of silence between everyone.Harshly, she bit her lip. Caspian had started to walk away towards a cabin and the crew had started rising from their positions and continuing their duties. Susan was once again conflicted with feelings. Humbily, Lord Drinian smiles at his queen before shouting. "Tonight is our last night before we arrive at shore. So we shall enjoy it. All crew members get your clean underwear on, we're having a party to celebrate the return of our Queen. You have thirty minutes before I expect everyone to be dancing starting from..." He shoots his sword into the ground. "Now." Gently, he held out his hand and escorted Susan inside the Captains Quarters. Once again, she was alone. Around her was golden walls and to her right was paintings but on the left, was a golden lion symbol with her horn framed underneath. Lucy's dagger and healing potion were in an unlocked box along with her bow and arrow.
"I have not stopped thinking of you for 4 years." a voice spoke gently which caused Susan to turn. He averted his eyes towards the ground. "I have this recurring dream in which we rule Narnia, not just us, your brothers and Lucy as well but I only seem to focus on us." Susan edged towards him before placing her hand gently on his cheek. "I get dreams too." She tenderly whispered before she looking up at him with a smile on her face. He continued to look down. "I didn't think you would be returning and I'm not getting any younger. But you, you look, radiant." Susan tilted his chin with her nimble fingers and placed a kiss on his prickly cheek. "And now I am to be married. To a beautiful star. A star I don't think I love." He said as if he was ashamed.
"Then why are you marrying her?" Slowly, Susan steps back and starts looking around at the paintings. "I thought it was best for Narnia to have a Queen. Especially a Queen that would rule for more years than I could."
"I should congratulate you." She gulped. "I can only imagine how happy you're going to make her." She stopped in front of a painting. Carefully, she caressed her hand across but stops on a brown-haired figure. She tilted her head and squinted her eyes to look closer.
"Beautiful isn't she," Caspian expressed. "I found it in Cair Paravel's ruins. I thought it looked like-"(Not my own image all rights reserved)
"Me, and that's Lucy and Edmund and Peter." She said gleefully. "We stood for hours, but it came out beautifully. I miss those days. Why would you keep this on your boat?"
"You were the closest thing I had to a family."
Her heart tingled with possibly love. She felt a warm chill flow through her blood. She had an urge to kiss him, an urge she had to control. His hand slowly moved her hair to one side and he started to move in closer. She could feel his warm breathe on her neck. "I-"Unexpectedly, The glass door swung open and revealed Lord Drinian. Flustered, Caspian Jumped back and scratched his whisky brown hair, Susan turned around and blushed.
"The party has begun, Captain. Will you be attending?" Caspian glances at Susan. She nods. "Shall we?"
