Chapter Six

"Do you guys want to sit at my table?" Katie, who's eyes only looked at Bella, asked.

Bella nodded quickly , "Of course." She looked around where the group was sat, "it's so beautiful here," she whispered, mainly to herself. It really was, the school was a huge building, made from old bricks, they looked worn and timely, they were covered in ivory, flowers trailing along the floors.

They all sat around a wooden bench outside, under a blossom tree. The summer months had passed by but on the odd day the sun would uncover from the clouds and warm the city.

Katie had introduced the three of them to her own friends the other day, all of which got along nicely with them, they were very chatty as a group and therefore made conversation comfortable.

One of the girls was Blake, she was quite timid compared to the others, she was sweet to talk to, but she was by far Lana's favourite because she could sit in a comfortable silence with her, no need to talk.

Kassian made light conversation with the group, asking about themselves, even though he already knew, He and Lana had rechecked their student personal files, along with any further government files they're supervisor could provide.

Lana watched them all, her eyes flicking mainly between Katie and Isabella who just spoke amongst themselves, she was glad Bella had been able to make friends so quickly, a hint of surprise by how close her and Katie actually were already, but still pleased she was fitting in.

Lana's eyes strayed to a couple stood near the car park, they huddled together awkwardly, they appeared out of place.

Blake noticed Lana's frown and followed her eyeline to the pair, they studied them for a moment, the boy stood taller and less nervous than what she assumed was his sister from their very prominent ginger hair.

He stood with a small backpack and nothing else, the sister was wearing tainted grey sweats, which was oddly underdressed for such a prestigious school, Lana then looked back at the boy was in very similar clothes.

It only raised her anxiety to the two of them. After a few moments of them both watching the school, the older boy pulled out a small looking phone from his back pocket, it didn't seem modern.

"I don't recognise them from any student files." Lana's eyes narrowed to Kassians words, he sounded calm but she knew he was interested by the pair too.

Though Lana would never admit this Kassian had an amazing memory, he was able to recall any event from his life with almost every detail in tact; the fact he didn't recognise them meant they weren't students here.

"What's up?" Isabella's voice spoke up, Lana turned back to the table who all sat quietly staring at Blake, Kassian and herself, she hadn't realised they had been obvious.

"Do you guys recognise them?" Blake spoke up before Lana could, she pointed towards the car park, the boy had just finished a phone call and they started to retreat.

They rest of the table stared for a moment, "No I don't think so, why?" They all mumbled in agreement, no one knew them.

"They just looked a bit lost." Lana said casually, picking at her food, "wasn't sure if they needed help getting somewhere."

Katie looked back at the couple again, a frown etched on her face, "maybe they're late transfers?"

"Probably." Bella agreed, before picking up an old conversation with Katie.

Kassian looked at Lana who had a concerned expression, "let's go to reception after lunch and figure this out." He used an oddly reassuring tone with her.

"Okay, good idea, thanks." Lana said, her eyes narrowing at him, now she was suspicious of Kassian.
