I Have Better Things to Do
You can ultimately only be who you truly are
You can try to hide it, but you won’t get very far
A person can always pretend
That they want to be someone’s friend
But sooner or later their real feelings cannot be concealed
And the person you really are will surely be revealed.
You can try your very best to fool people, but seriously, for Pete’s sake
Sooner or later it will be obvious that all you are is fake
You may be able to fool some of the people some of the time
But believe me when I say, everyone isn’t blind
No matter how you try to appear all sweet and nice
Maybe you can fool me once, but you'll never fool me twice
Underneath this friendly face, and this genuine smile
Lives a fully grown woman and not some foolish child
If you don’t really like me, then don’t pretend you do.
I’ve recently decided I’m not particularly fond of you.
So act like an adult, and stop your foolish games
We aren’t kids on a playground and there is no need for calling names
But you really should uncover your mirror so you can see what everyone else is seeing
It’s a whole lot of ugliness pouring from your very being
Honestly, I can’t believe I’m even wasting my time saying all of these things to you
So Ill end it all right here because I have far better things to do.
