Your Sadness

 

There is something about you that is so very sad

 

Always something missing and it makes you feel bad

 

Although you're living and doing your own thing

 

It’s a lonely song that I can hear your heart sing

 

You have family and friends who really care

 

But they can’t see you when you're all alone there

 

Late at night when you're lying in bed

 

So many thoughts run thru your head

 

You think about things that you have lost

 

You wonder why you had to pay such a cost

 

You think about things that you wish you had

 

Deep inside you, there lives so much sad

 

You have an inner loneliness that runs very deep

 

The only time it fades is when you're asleep

 

Every day it somehow creeps back in

 

You try to fight it but it often wins

 

You have a heart of solid gold

 

And you long for someone special to hold

 

Sometimes you feel like that will never be yours

 

Like God had closed all of those doors

 

Way down deep you still have a little glimmer of hope

 

That glimmer is why you continue to cope

 

You feel like the rest of the world cannot see

 

But that’s because you sometimes forget about me

 

I can see all of these things that you feel

 

And I know all the pain that you feel is real

 

Please try to remember that you always have me

 

And that all your hopes can one day be

 

Until that day will finally arrive

 

When you have all you want right by your side

 

Remember I’m here and I’m thinking of you
